Armenia Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The visitor visa is issued to foreign nationals(including Mauritanians) who intend to enter the Republic of Armenia for tourism visiting relatives or friends, business purposes, medical treatment or for recreational purposes.
- The visitor visa is always issued for a single entry into Armenia but applicants may also apply for a multiple-entry visa.
- If you are visiting friends or relatives residing in Armenia, you are to obtain a letter of invitation from them. The letter should state the purpose of your travel, your relationship with your host, how long you intend to stay in Armenia and the contact details of your host.
- If you are traveling for business purposes, you must present a letter of invitation from the partner company in Armenia. This letter must clearly state the purpose of your travel, how long you will stay in Armenia and who will be responsible for your expenses while in the country.
- The invitation letter must be approved by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a notarized copy must be presented at the embassy where your visa application will be processed.
- For business visitors, if there exists proof of previous business relations between your company and the partner company in Armenia, such as bills of lading or payment receipts for goods received or other such documents, you should provide such documents.
- There are two types of single-entry Armenian visitor visa. The one allows a stay for up to 21 days and costs $6 while the other allows a stay for up to 120 days and costs $31.
- There are also two types of multiple-entry Armenian visitor visa. The one is valid for 6 months but allows a stay of up to 60 days and costs $41. The other is valid for 1 year but allows a maximum stay of 120 days and costs $83.
- Regardless of the visa type you apply for, the visa fee is non-refundable.
- There is no Armenian embassy in Mauritania, visa applications can go through the nearest available embassy which is in Cairo, Egypt.
- You are not to have more than $10,000.00 USD with you when entering or exiting Armenia.

- The Armenian transit visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel through Armenia to their destination.
- Your Mauritnainan international passport must be valid for up to 6 months.
- An onward ticket to your destination country must be provided to apply for the transit visa.
- You must also have a valid entry visa to your destination from Armenia.
- Foreigners are to provide documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country(Mauritania), e.g. verification from the applicant’s employer.
- The Armenian single-entry transit visa costs $21 while the multiple-entry visa which is valid for 1 year costs $37.
- The transit visa allows a stay of up to 3 days but can be extended for a maximum of 4 days except in emergency cases.
- You must provide proof of payment of the visa fee.
- Travelers are advised to not overstay their visa as overstaying may attract penalties.
