Basic Travel Requirements for Mauritians visiting Belarus

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belarusian Visa.

  • A passport valid for at least 90 days after the expiry of the visa with at least two blank pages.
  • Duly completed visa questionnaire/application form
  • The form should be filled in block letters, answers should state clearly the purpose of the visit and forms must be fully completed and signed
  • If the applicant is a minor, the form should be signed a the legal representative.
  • Passport-size photographs taken less than six months from application (35 x 45 mm) in white background.
  • Travel document containing passports of the owner.
  • Birth certificate for applicants under 18 years
  • Visa support document for the required type of visa
  • Copy of a foreign medical health insurance certificate with a letter from your bank/company and must contain the following information:
    • name and address of the foreign insurance company
    • name of the citizen covered by the insurance
    • territorial validity which must include Belarus
    • must be valid for the duration of stay in Belarus
  • A return envelope (for applications made by post)
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Consular fee should be paid in cash or transfer. Cheques are not allowed.
  • Visa for applicants under 14 years of age is free.

Belarus Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The transit visa (type b) is issued to individuals who are traveling through Belarus to other countries.
  • It is valid for 48 hours from the date of entry into Belarus
  • Transit visa could be of 3 entry types 
    • Single Entry — allows one entry 
    • Double Entry — allows two entries 
    • Multiple Entry — allows multiple entries 
  • When applying for a type b visa, the following documents are required:
    • Visa application form
    • A passport photograph
    • Proof of payment
    • Valid visa of destination country, copy of ticket or booking confirmation as the case may be.

  • Tourist visa is issued for tourism purposes. A double-entry tourist visa can be issued based on invitation which states the reason for double-entry. For a tourist visa to be issued, the applicant must submit the following documents along with the generally required documents
    • accommodation booking confirmation for the period of reservation, but for no more than 10 days
    • if accommodation is a private apartment, scanned copies of the folowing documents sent by the landlord through an e-mail should be provided; proof that the Landlord is the owner of the apartments; certificate of the registration of a private unitary enterprise

    • Visa for issued by a Belarusian tourist company/ travel agency/ rural tourist business on the company letter-head bearing the full name of the tourist organization, its location and telephone number, commitment of the tourist company that the foreigner will comply with the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus, sealed by the company.
  • Visitor visa requires one of the following
    • an invitation issued by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus
    • official confirmation of serious illness or death of a relative
  • Business visa is issued for conducting of business trips. It requires the following additional documents:
    • a letter of invitation from a registered company in Belarus
    • the invitation should be printed on the official letterhead with a registration number, date of issue, the full name of the company, its location and telephone number – bear the signature of the official and a corporate seal – indicate the expected duration of the applicant's stay in Belarus – state the inviting party’s written guarantees that the invitee will abide by the rules and regulations applied to foreign citizens in the Republic of Belarus.
  • Humanitarian visa is usually free of charge and is issued for humanitarian right programs. An invitation letter from either an humanitarian organization or the ministry of education is required.
  • Journalist visa is issued to mass media representatives which must have a written confirmation from the minister of foreign affairs in Belarus
  • Student visa is for individuals who intend to study in Belarus. A letter of invitation from the organization applied should be provided. Upon arrival, the individual should apply for a sojourn permit
  • For religious purpose visa, an invitation letter with the following is required: should be printed on the official letterhead with a registration number, date of issue, the full name of the association, its location and telephone number – be sealed by the religious association and approved by the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs – indicate the expected duration of the applicant's stay in Belarus – state the inviting party’s written guarantees that the invitee will abide by the rules and regulations applied to foreign citizens in the Republic of Belarus
  • Employment visa is issued to those who want to work in Belarus. These additional documents are required
    • employment permit
    • original request of a commercial organization
  • Visits to cemetery visa is issued for visiting burial places in Belarus. To get this visa, an original certificate confirming the burial and maintenance of grave by relatives is needed.
  • Group visa is issued to five people entering and leaving Belarus together. When applying for this visa, each applicant must submit the visa application form, valid passport, a passport photograph, a letter of invitation, payment and a list of each member of the group. The list must contain the following information about each applicant
    • name and surname (as written in the passport) 
    • date of birth
    • passport number
    • citizenship
  • The leader of the group’s information should be the first on the list and the list should be signed and sealed by the director of the company

  • Type D long term is valid for up to 1 year with a period of 90 days stay.
  • If more than 90 days is needed then the individual has to apply for a residence permit
  • The following categories of visa are classified as type D visa:

  5. Visa for religious purposes; and
  6. Visit to cemeteries
  • The requirements for each visa category is the same as those under type C visa with the exception of the Business visa
  • For the type D business visa, these documents are required: a written request of a legal Belarusian company, written request of a representative office of a foreign company, proof of registration of the inviting Belarusian company, a copy of the contract between the applicant and the Belarusian company, applicant’s employment reference letter and additional documents containing the information in the visa form.
