Basic Travel Requirements for Congoleses visiting Portugal

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Portuguese Visa.

  • Duly completed and signed the visa form.
  • The visa form should be filled with sincerity.
  • You can also fill the Portugal Schengen Visa application form electronically and then print a hard-copy.
  • 2 photos must be attached; the photo should be of passport format, a recent whole-face capture with a light background should be provided,
  • Your passport and copies of your previous visas valid for at least 3 months beyond return date are required. Your passport must have at least two blank pages.
  • A copy of your return-ticket reservation. It is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa.
  • Proof of travel insurance with a minimum of 30,000 € coverage within Portugal and the entire Schengen area.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Portugal and itinerary is required.
  • Booked flight itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Portugal must be provided.
  • Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Portugal is required.
  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of a spouse) should be provided.

Portugal Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Portuguese tourist visa is issued to applicants who intend to visit Portugal for tourism purposes, recreational activities and sightseeing.
  • This visa also allows foreigners to visit their friends or relations who hold permanent residency in the country.
  • You are expected to submit a letter of invitation from your host in Portugal if you will be visiting someone.

    • Holders of the Portugal business visa are eligible to travel to Portugal to engage in business activities.
    • During business meetings with business partners in the country, you are allowed to involved in the negotiation and signing of business contracts.
    • Applicants of this visa are allowed to attend and participate in trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars in the country.
    • If you will be attending a conference while you are in Portugal, proof of registration and payment for the conference is required.

    • The Portugal student visa is issued to foreigners with the intention of studying in an institution in Portugal
    • A holder of the visa can stay in Portugal for as long as their study curriculum permits.
    • Before initiating the visa application process, intending students should ensure confirm that they have been accepted in an institution in Portugal.
    • A letter of acceptance from the institution in Portugal should be provided. The letter must be printed on the institution’s letterhead and must state the course the applicant will be studying.
