Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Czech Republic
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Czech Visa.
- A completed visa application form.
- A valid passport or travel document valid for at least 3 months from intended exit date. Your passport must have 2 blank pages for visa stamps and must have been issued within the last 10 years
- For non-Rwandans, a valid resident permit is required.
- Two recent passport sized photographs.
- Travel reservations to and from Czech Republic.
- Proof of accommodation for the duration of your stay which could be hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in the country.
- You'll need to show proof you can cater for yourself while in Czech Republic. Your recent bank statement or that of a sponsor in Czech Republic will suffice.
- Medical insurance which covers at least €30,000 of medical costs including hospital care, emergency treatment and repatriation in the event of death.
- Your application should be submitted no earlier than three months and generally no later than 15 days before your intended trip. If you apply less than 15 days before the journey, your application may not be processed in time.
- Within 30 working days of entering the Czech Republic, you are required to register at a Police Inspectorate near you.

Czech Republic Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Tourists hoping to visit Czech Republic for relaxation, sightseeing and other recreational purposes are to apply for this visa.
- You can also visit friends and family in Czech Republic with this visa.
- An invitation letter from your host in the country should be provided if you are visiting a friend or relative. You'll also be required to provide the home address, telephone number and a valid means of identification of your host.
- For non-Rwandans, a copy of your resident permit will be required for the visa application process.
- If you're employed, a letter from your employer stating approval of the trip and affirming the duration is needed.
- If self-employed, you need to submit your company's documents or a letter from your accountant confirming that the business exists.
- Students are required to provide a letter from their school confirming enrollment, awareness of trip and proof of registration for the year under the university's letterhead.
- You cannot study or take up paid employment in Czech Republic with this visa.
- Proof of family ties that show you have an incentive to return to South Africa is required for this visa type.
- You'll be required to submit full round trip reservation to show you have incentives to leave Czech republic at the expiration of your visa.
- Proof of accommodation in Czech Republic is necessary. This could be in the form of a hotel reservation or a confirmation that you'll be accommodated by your host in the country.
- You must show proof that you can cater for yourself while in Czech Republic. This could be your bank statement from the last 3 months or that of a financial sponsor in Czech Republic along with a letter affirming said sponsor is liable to catering for you.
- Travel insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 is required. This is to take care of any possible health problems the applicant might encounter during stay in Czech Republic.
- Overstaying your visa is prohibited, you should leave the country as soon as your visa expires.
- This visa allows for a stay of 90 days and is valid for 90 days from issue date.
Czech Republic Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for Rwandans who are visiting the Czech Republic with the aim of meeting up with business partners.
- Holders of this visa can attend conferences, business summits, and trade fairs while in Czech Republic.
- An invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in the Czech Republic detailing purpose and duration of your stay should be provided. The letter should be on the company's letter head detailing its address and contact details.
- You'll also need to provide a letter from your employer in Rwanda acknowledging your business trip, purpose and duration.
- Documentation showing proof of previous trade relations between you and the company should also be provided.
- The certificate of business registration of the company in Czech Republic is important.
- You'll need to provide documentation affirming who would be liable for all expenses in Czech Republic. This letter could come from your employer in Rwanda or the visiting company.
- Valid financial statements of whoever is sponsoring the trip should also be submitted.
- You are to provide proof of a valid medical insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 covering any medical emergency for the duration of your stay in Czech Republic.
- Minors should ensure that they have the original copy of their birth certificate along with a signed letter of consent from their parents.
- Non-Rwandans are to provide a copy of their valid resident permit.
- Documentation showing that you have the incentive of returning to your country is required. This could be birth certificates of your children in Rwanda or marriage certificate.
- Holders of this visa are neither allowed to study nor be paid for the services they render while they are in the country.
- This visa is valid for 3 months and it costs €60.
Czech Republic Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This is a long term visa for students who have been admitted to study in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days.
- Your original passport valid for at least 3 months from the intended date of exit is required.
- Two passport sized photographs that meet the Czech Republic photo requirement are to be provided.
- Documentation confirming sufficient financial resources for the duration of your study in Czech Republic is required.
- For this visa, all documents except the proof of financial sustenance must be submitted in Czech or translated by the Czech jury.
- Personal documents you provide are to be original or notarized photocopies. These documents must not be older than 180 days.
- You'll need to submit transcript from your previous institution of learning. A copy of the school license from the Ministry of Education is also needed.
- For minors, a letter of attorney from their parents as well as their valid means of identification is required.
- You must provide proof of accommodation which could be a letter from your school verifying place of accommodation, a rental agreement or an accommodation statement from an apartment owner.
- A medical report fully detailing the applicant's health status is important.
- You are to submit a valid criminal history report from Rwanda to show that you have a clean criminal record.
- Valid health insurance that has a minimum of €30,000 to cover the length of your study.
- This visa is processed within 60 days so it's recommended to apply well in advance.
- This visa costs about 2500CZK.
- Foreign students visiting the Czech Republic for more than 30 days must register at the Foreign Police Department. Registration must be done within 3 days from the date of arrival.
Czech Republic Official Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for Rwandan officials travelling to the Czech Republic for diplomatic purposes.
- A letter issued by Rwandan authorities confirming applicant's identity, accommodation details, purpose and duration of trip is required.
- The applicant will also need to provide an official invitation letter from the Czech Republic government.
- You must provide a valid means of identification.
- Flight reservation including return flight to show you have intentions to return to Rwanda is necessary.
- You'll be required to submit your travel itinerary.
- Diplomats on non-official visits are not entitled to this visa. Only Heads of States can visit the country for whatever purpose with the official visa.
- For minors, they'll be required to present their birth certificate and a letter of travel authorization signed by both parents.
- Holders of this visa are not allowed to take up a course of study or be paid for services they render while in the country.
- This visa is free and is usually processed in about 15 days.
Czech Republic Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Transit visa is for Rwandans travelling through or making short stops in the Czech Republic before moving to a non-Schengen country.
- This visa allows Rwandans to alight from or board an airplane in a Czech Republic airport.
- Flight ticket of your destination country is required for this visa application.
- You must provide the visa of your final destination country.
- Minors are required to present their birth certificate and a consent form signed by their parents.
- You are not allowed to study or take up paid employment while in the country.
- Proof that you have the incentive to return to your country at the expiration of your visa is needed.
- The transit visa is valid for 5 days and cannot be extended. It's usually processed in 15 working days.
- You are required to exit the country before the expiry of your visa.
- The visa costs €60 for Rwandans 12 years and above, €35 for children between 6-11 and is free for children under 6.
