Basic Travel Requirements for Algerians visiting Egypt

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Egyptian Visa.

  • Completely filled visa application form.
  • Original International passport valid for at least 6 months on entry into Egypt.

Egypt Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The tourist visa is for Algerian travelers who visit Egypt with the intention of touring, visiting or having a good time while in the country.
  • If you are desiring to visit Egypt for other purposes, consider applying for any other types of Egyptian visas. 
  • It is possible to attend business meetings while on a tourist visa, but all activities must fall within the allowed duration.
  • Be careful when filling your application form as the information you provide must tally with what you have on your supporting documents.
  • Algerian nationals just like any other foreigners who are seeking work in Egypt with tourist visa, need to exit Egypt and re-apply for Egyptian work permit before being granted work in Egypt.
  • When visiting friends, relatives or a business partner, you must provide an invitation letter.
  • The letter should state the relationship with your host, the purpose and duration of your trip.
  • This visa is valid for a period of 30 days but can be extended at the Ministry of Interior in Cairo.
  • You cannot reside permanently in Egypt with a tourist visa or take up paid employment. However, if you intend to stay more than 6 months, you will have to apply for a temporary residence permit.
  • You are expected to leave Egypt before your visa expires.
  • This visa costs $25 which is equivalent to 3017.12 Algerian Dinar.
  • Tourist visas are only valid for a single entry. That is to say, if you leave Egypt to visit another country and then return, you will have to re-purchase a new entry visa.
  • Non-Algerian citizens are required to present a valid resident permit.
  • Algerian citizens who are under the age of 14 are not required visa before traveling to Egypt.

Egypt Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Egypt, unlike most countries, does not have a separate work visa category. Foreigners who intend to work in Egypt must simply apply for a work permit.
  • The application process may be rigorous and time-consuming.
  • Seven(7) passport-size photographs are required.
  • Two(2) copies of your employer's incorporation contract will be needed.
  • Two(2) copies of your Tax ID will also be required
  • Two(2) copies of your academic qualifications which could be university degrees, professional certificates or letter of reference from past employers are necessary for the work permit application.
  • Algerians will be required to provide a copy of the commercial register of your employer.
  • Original and copy of any licenses required for practicing your profession is important.
  • Your employer must present a representative that guarantees to sponsor your work permit.
  • Your employer is expected to seek approval from the authority related to your profession in Egypt. 
  • The first step of applying for an Egyptian work permit is obtaining the application form from the nearest Ministry of Manpower and Training Office.
  • As work permit applications require the participation of the foreigner's employer, you must have been offered a job from an employer in Egypt.
  • Your employer will need to submit a memorandum explaining why it is necessary to hire a foreigner rather than a qualified Egyptian citizen.
  • The work permit visa is charged 1000 Egyptian pounds and its processing time is usually within or above a year.
  • An Egyptian work permit is valid for one(1) and might be extended for 5 years.
  • A copy of the test showing that you are free of HIV/AIDs is also needed.
  • Another essential item is approval from Egypt’s State Security Service showing that you are not a threat to national security or public safety.
  • This can be obtained through a division at the Ministry of Manpower and Training office.
  • Finally, you will need to pay a registration fee of about LE1,000 to complete the process.
