Basic Travel Requirements for Algerians visiting Italy
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Italian Visa.
- A duly filled and signed application form.
- All the fields of the form must be filled.
- A valid Algerian passport with at least two free pages, and 6months validity.
- 2 clear colored passport-size photos.
- Proof of payment of visa application fee.
- Travel health insurance.
- Hotel accommodation- for tourist visa applicants.
- An invitation letter from a sponsor in Italy – For family visa applicants.
- And any other documents supporting the purpose of the planned visit.
- Proof of financial capacity.
- For Underage (18 years below):
- A copy of a birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission.
- A letter from the applicant’s school stating clearly the class attended and permission of absence.
- Written consent from parents in the form of a sworn Affidavit issued by a High Court including the parent’s identity photograph and a copy of his/her passport.

- The Tourist visa Single-entry validity is 90 days, while for Multiple-entry is 180 days.
- Algerian nationals who want to travel on this visa should carefully read the required documents that must be submitted together with their visa application. They should ensure that they have all the documents required, as lack of one or more documents can result in visa denial.
- Applicants are strongly advised to submit originals and photocopies of their own supporting documents.
- Documents submitted in photocopies only will not be considered in view of the visa evaluation.
- Algerians should be aware that submission of photocopies only might lead to a visa refusal.
- The only documents that can be submitted in photocopy are the identity card and the passport of the Italian sponsor signing the letter of invitation.
- All Algerian adult applicants should always submit their own personal bank statements, irrespectively of the scope of trip (business or tourism). Applicants are strongly advised to do so as without the personal bank statements there could be no correct evaluation of the application and this might lead to a visa denial.
- In case of applicants who are owners of small businesses, if for some reason they have only their company’s bank statement, an original letter of the bank stating that the applicant is the sole signatory of the account should be submitted.
- Algerians should be informed that the Italian consulate would require a minimum of three (3) consecutive empty pages in your passport in order to issue a visa STICKER on your passport.
Italy Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Italian Business Visa is issued to All nationals including Algerians who wish to visit the country for the purpose of business activities such as attending conferences, seminars, conducting business and other commercial activities.
- These visas can only be issued to applicants not being paid for work by an entity within Italy.
- If the applicant intends to undertake paid work in Italy he/she will need to obtain a work permit.
- The business visa has a validity of 90 days but can be extended to another 90 days if the Algerian applicants wish to extend his/her stay.
- However, if Algerian nationals wish to stay in the country longer than 90 days, they would need to apply for a residence permit.
- The validity of the single-entry visa or double-entry visa mostly depends on the embassy.
- Algerians should keep in mind that this does not grant the applicant the right to take up new employment in Italy.
- The following documents are required from Algerian nationals in addition to existing requirements:
- An Invitation letter from the Italian company that Algerian national will be visiting and their address along with your travel dates
- A letter from their employer stating and/or allowing them of business travel.
- Bank statement from the last 6 months.
- The invitation letter must also mention how the expenses of the applicant is going to be covered during his/her travel. It must be made clear whether it will be sponsored by the employer or the local Italian company.
