Basic Travel Requirements for Algerians visiting Thailand

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Thai Visa.

  • Passport or travel document which has a validity of a minimum of 6 months from the planned date of departure from Thailand. The passport must have two blank pages.

Thailand Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to citizens of Algeria who are visiting Thailand for the purpose of sightseeing, leisure, and tourism.
  • If you are working for an employer in Algeria, a letter from your employer, certifying your work status addressed to the Royal Thai Embassy in London should be submitted.
  • The letter from your employer must be printed on the letterheaded paper of the company and must state your current job position.

  • All applicants must undergo a criminal record check. Applicants are required to present a copy of a criminal record certificate.
  • You are expected to submit a copy of your medical certificate which indicates that you are free from any contagious diseases.
  • All documents in foreign languages must be translated to the English language and the translated copy must be certified by the relevant embassy in London.
  • If you are missing a required document, you are required to write a letter indicating the unavailability of such a document.
  • In a case whereby the visa applicant does not have the original copy of a document required, photocopies which have been certified by a Notary Public officer may be accepted.
  • Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents from the visa applicant.
  • Overstaying the duration allowed on your visa may lead to you being banned from re-entering Thailand for a period of 1 – 10 years, depending on how long you overstay.
  • You may be questioned if it is found out by the authorities that you are spending more time in Thailand than in your home country.

Thailand Type O Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals who have the intention of visiting or staying with family members who legally reside in Thailand for more than 60 days but not more than 90 days.
  • Foreigners who have the intention of engaging in voluntary work with a charity/NGO without receiving payment are also eligible for this visa.
  • Pensioners, aged 50 years or above receiving a state pension, who wants to stay in Thailand for not more than 90 days can also apply for this visa type.
  • This visa type is also suitable for foreign nationals who have the intention of seeking and receiving medical treatment in Thailand.
  • Thai nationals who have abandoned their Thai citizenships are also eligible for the Type O visa.
  • If you are a contestant or a witness for a judicial process, this is the visa type for you.
  • The Type O visa is a single-entry visa. It allows only one entry into the country and it ceases to be valid as soon as you depart the country.
  • Those with the intention of doing voluntary work in Thailand are required to present a letter confirming voluntary work signed by an authorized person. The ID card or passport of the person that signs the letter should be provided.
  • Registration of the charity/NGO is required.
  • If you will be visiting a family member in Thailand, you are required to present a document which shows proof of family ties between you and the person you are visiting.
  • A copy of your host’s ID card, passport and visa page or stay permit must be submitted.
  • Applicants who are retired should provide a copy of pension statement or a copy of their bank account statement from the past month showing their income from pension.
  • For those visiting Thailand for medical treatment, a letter of appointment from the hospital or medical center in Thailand should be provided.
  • A copy of the certificate of registration of the receiving hospital or medical center in Thailand is required.
  • If you are a contestant or a witness in an ongoing judicial process, you are expected to provide documents confirming your participation in the judicial process.
  • Applicants of this visa are not expected to exceed a period of 90 days in the country. If you overstay your visa, you may be refused re-entry into the country.

Thailand Type O-A Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is a type of long-stay visa that allows you to stay in Thailand for 1 year.
  • The Type O-A visa is a multiple-entry visa.
  • You must be in possession of the online visa application printed online. The visa application printed online must have a bar code.
  • A medical certificate issued in either Thailand, UK or Ireland should be provided. The medical certificate must have been issued three months before the visa application.
  • This medical certificate must show that the visa applicant has no prohibitive diseases such as Leprosy, Elephantiasis, drug addiction, and the third stage of Syphilis.
  • A certificate of criminal record clearance should also be provided.
  • Applicants of this visa must be able to provide financial evidence showing an income of a minimum of 65,000 THB or having a current balance of 800,00 THB.
  • Only applicants who are age 50 years or above will be issued this visa. Those who are less than this age cannot be granted this visa.
  • Applicants who wish to be accompanied by their spouse will have their marriage certificate attached to the visa application.
  • Spouse of applicants of the O-A visa will be issued the non-immigrant O visa instead.
  • You are expected to submit the original copies of the bank statement, criminal record, and medical record, as well as one photocopy of each document.
  • If you can submit the original copies of these documents, the photocopies which have been certified by a Notary Public officer will be accepted.
  • Foreigners may be asked to provide additional documents as deemed necessary by the consular officer.

Thailand Journalist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of visiting a media or press organization based in Thailand.
  • Members of a film crew who are in Thailand for the purpose of producing a film, motion picture or advertisement can also apply for this visa.
  • Visa applicants who intend to work as a film producer, journalist or reporter may apply for this visa.
  • Applicants who have the intention of producing a film or motion picture have to register with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek a filming permit at the MFA Medial Online Service.
  • Once the filming permit has been approved, the visa applicant can then go ahead with the visa application process.
  • You are requested to present a copy of the visa application form submitted online. The visa application form must have a bar code.
  • An approval letter from the Department of Tourism (Thailand Film Office) must be provided.
  • Foreigners are required to provide a letter of employment to confirm the media trip.
  • Those traveling to Thailand on this visa type are expected to provide proof of their legal residence in Algeria.

  • The letter from the employer must be signed by an authorized person in the company and must be accompanied by a copy of the ID card or passport of the person that signs it.
  • An approval letter known as WP3 from the Ministry of Labor of Thailand should be provided.
  • If the visa applicant is already working in a Thai company and needs to renew the Work Visa, a work permit is requested instead of the WP3.
  • You are required to be in possession of a copy of your legal residence in Thailand.
  • Foreigners who have the intention of working as teachers in Thailand a letter confirming their employment details in the school or university they have been employed. The letter must be signed by an authorized person in the school or university.
  • An approved letter from the concerned authority under the Ministry of Education must be provided.
  • Applicants of this visa are required to provide a criminal record clearance certificate issued by the police. This document should not be older than 6 months.
  • As soon as foreigners who intend to work as teachers arrive in Thailand, the educational institute they have been employed will apply for a teacher’s license at the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of University Affairs.
  • A copy of the applicant’s work permit, employment contract, employment certificate or teacher’s license is to be submitted to the Immigration Bureau in Bangkok in order to apply for a visa extension.
  • If you have been employed by a Board of Investment (BOI) registered company, you are required to present a letter from Thailand’s Board of Investment.
  • Visa applicants who have some documents missing from their application are required to provide a letter stating the absence of such a document.
