Application requirements

Documents Angolan applicants need to provide.

  • Signed Angola passport with at least 6 months validity after an intended stay in Japan is required.
  • Passport must have at least 2 blank pages to attach Japan visa stamp.
  • The standard immigration practice is to reject passports with validity shorter than 6 months. In cases like these, the applicant will not be allowed to exit Angola or enter Japan.
  • Passport must be in good condition. Broken and unreadable passports are not accepted.
  • The application form must be signed and fully completed by the applicant.
  • Handwritten and computerized filled application are both accepted.
  • Don’t leave any field blank in the application form.
  • Use a black pen or font. Do not use a pencil or one of those erasable pens to fill the application form.
  • Passport photograph 4.5 cm x 4.5 cm with a white background must be taken within the last 6 months.
  • Daily itinerary in Japan should also be submitted.
  • Host Letter. Must explain the host’s relationship with the applicant and their contact details.
  • Proof of relationship between applicant and host. For example, if the host is a parent, a close relative or an organization in Japan, submit their birth certificate too.
  • Bank Certificate (original) of the Guarantor.
  • Photocopy of the Income Tax Return of the host.

Visa type details

Business visa

  • Business visa is issued to foreigners visiting Japan for business purposes.
  • Original, signed Angola passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
  • 2 passport photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months.
  • Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary
  • Copies of bank statements from the past 6 months showing that the applicant has sufficient funds for the duration of stay.
  • A letter of invitation from your employer on business letterhead, with contact details, stating that a leave of absence has been granted and that applicant will be returning to the current job.
  • If the applicant is self-employed, a copy of the business license and the tax return is required.
  • Copy of confirmed hotel reservations is required.
  • A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in Japan.
  • The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to the Consulate of Japan, and signed by a senior manager. The business letter briefly introduces the applicant by specifying employment status/position held in the company by the applicant, the nature of the business to be conducted such as business meetings, contract negotiations, etc. and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Japan.

Tourist visa

  • A tourist visa is granted to foreigners for tourism purposes.
  • Japan visa application form that is fully completed and signed.
  • Fill out the application form either digitally or by hand.
  • Both computerized (typewritten) and handwritten are accepted. But for handwritten forms, make sure the form is written in block letters.
  • Copy of confirmed hotel reservations serving as proof of accommodation in Japan.
  • Letter of invitation from friends or family stating the purpose of travel and duration of stay in Japan
  • Applicants of tourist visa should not, for any reason, take up paid work in Japan.
  • Copy of tourist voucher issued by tourist company or hotel in Japan approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
