Application requirements
Documents Angolan applicants need to provide.
- Angolan passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date.
- Passport must have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- Duly completed and signed Russian visa application form.
- Application form of minors should be signed by both parents.
- Passport photograph (35 by 45 mm) taken in white background is required.
- A copy of confirmed travel documents is required.
- Applicants should submit proof of sufficient funds.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation is required.
- A copy of return flight ticket.
- Documents showing applicant's ties to Angola should be provided.
- Medical insurance that covers the entire duration of stay in Russia.
- Travel itinerary showing entry and exit dates.
- Letter of invitation from the host in Angola.

Business visa
- An original, signed passport that is valid for 6 months beyond stay in Russia.
- Passport should have two adjacent blank passport pages available for Russian visa stamp.
- Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not accepted for Russian visa stamp.
- Russian visa application form completely filled and signed.
- An original business letter from the Angolan based company stating that the employer is aware of the applicant's business leave, duration of leave, the position held in Angola and contact information of the organization in Angola.
- Travel itinerary or copy of tickets.
- Invitation letter from inviting organization stating the kind of business to be conducted and the duration of stay in Russia.
- Original invitation letter from Angola must be issued by the Russian Federal Migration Services
- Proof of sufficient funds by providing a bank statement of the last six months.
Student visa
- The Russian student visa is issued to Angola citizens that want to take up study programs in an educational institute in Russia.
- The maximum stay for the Russian student visa is valid for more than 180 days.
- Student Visa can be extended to cover the duration of study in Russia.
- To extend student visa, applicants are required to apply to the local division of the Federal Immigration Service of the Russian Federation.
- Applicants should ensure that they have been offered admission to the educational institute in Russia.
- An official letter from the Russian university, institute or college confirming that applicant has been offered admission.
- Photocopies of the previous educational certificate from the last institution attended.
- Receipt showing proof that tuition fee has been paid.
- Certificates of good health showing proof that the applicant has no contagious diseases.
- Copy of travel documents or travel itinerary is required.
- All required student documents should be provided in either English or Russian.
- Applicant should have at last $5,000 per year to cover all expenses in Russia.
Tourist visa
- The tourist visa is issued to foreigners visiting Russia for relaxation, recreation and sightseeing in Russia.
- Holders of a tourist visa are not required to work or study in Russia.
- An invitation letter from the host who is a citizen of Russia or is residing in Russia is required.
- The letter must state the relationship between the host and the applicant, duration and purpose of the trip to Russia.
- The letter must also include the valid home address of the host and the contact information of the host.
- Confirmed travel itinerary showing details of the trip, dates of departure and arrival to Russia.
- An original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages.
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the intended departure date from Russia.
- If travelling as a tour group or cruise passenger, a letter from the tour company or cruise line confirming itinerary should be submitted.
- Confirmation of hotel arrangements from an authorized Russian travel company, or directly from a Russian hotel, should be presented.
- Vaccinations against measles, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis are necessary before travelling to Russia.
- It is advisable to exchange your money in advance before travelling to Russia as functional exchange outlets are sometimes hard to find in the country.
Transit visa
- Transit visa is issued to foreigners transiting through Russia to the destination country.
- Flight ticket to the destination country is required.
- Applicants are also required to provide the visa to the destination country.
- Transit visa is issued for a maximum stay of 2 days in Russia.
- Holders of a tourist visa are not permitted to take up jobs while in Russia.
- Applicants are not required to overstay the duration of stay in Russia.
- Receipt showing that the applicant has paid for the visa fee.
- Russian transit visa cannot be extended.
