It is not advisable for you to drink tap water during your time in Rwanda. Always ensure you drink bottled water, even when brushing your teeth (this is just a safety precaution). You must also make sure that the ice in your drinks is made from bottled or purified water.

There is a risk of malaria-carrying mosquitoes in Rwanda this is because the altitude in the city variates between 1500 and 1800 meter. But the risk is smaller in the city, than in the countryside. You are advised to purchase mosquito nets and repellents before visiting the country.

Yes. Rwanda follows a universal health care model, which provides health insurance through a system called Mutuelles de Santé. The system is a community-based health insurance scheme, in which residents of a particular area pay premiums into a local health fund, and can draw from it when in need of medical care.
