Application requirements
Documents Angolan applicants need to provide.
- An Angolan passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date.
- The passport must have at least 2 blank pages for the visa stamp.
- A duly completed and signed Vietnam visa application form is required.
- The parents/legal guardians have to sign the form if the applicant is a minor.
- Three passport-size photographs (4 cm x 6 cm) taken on a white background.
- The travel document must be completely provided.
- Proof of financial capability in Vietnam by submitting original bank statements of the last 6 months is required.
- Proof of accommodation/hotel reservations.
- A letter of invitation from the host in Vietnam is required.
- The host could either be a family member, a friend, tour organization or business organization/company in Vietnam.
- Copy of return flight ticket showing that the applicant has the intention of going back to Angola.
- Documentation showing the applicant’s ties to the home country.
- A police report showing the applicant does not have any criminal record in Angola.
- Medical insurance that covers the duration of stay in Vietnam
- Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
- Copy of travel itinerary sowing travel details, entry and exit date from Vietnam is required.
- Applicants are to provide a copy of the receipt showing proof of the paid visa application fee.
Visa type details
Business visa
- A business visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of engaging in business activities in Vietnam.
- Applicants of the business visa are also allowed to attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits in Vietnam.
- Travelers with the intention of attending conferences while they are in the country are expected to have pre-registered for the conference beforehand. Proof of this registration will be asked at the consulate.
- An official letter of invitation from the company in Vietnam, written on the company’s letterhead is required. The letter should state both the duration and purpose of the applicant's visit to Vietnam.
- The company in Vietnam should also submit a copy of confirmed business registration.
- A letter from the applicant's employer stating approval of the business leave is required. The letter should also state the job position of the applicant and the duration of leave.
- If the host company in Vietnam will be financially responsible for the applicant for the entire duration of stay in Vietnam, it should be clearly stated in the letter of invitation.
- Private business owners are to submit a copy of their business registration and a copy of the Income Tax Return for the last six months.
- Angolans on a business visa are not permitted to receive payment for the services they render while they are in the country.
- Proof of incentive of returning to Angola at the expiration of the business visa is required, this can be in the form of a return ticket.
- This visa does not permit its holders to study in one of the institutions of learning in Vietnam.
- Applicants are expected to be vaccinated against yellow fever before traveling to Vietnam.
Tourist visa
- The Vietnam tourist visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of traveling to Vietnam for the purpose of tourism and leisure.
- A passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of travel is required. Temporary passports may be declined.
- Two recent 4 x 6 cm passport-sized photograph is required for the visa application.
- Hotels in Vietnam requires that applicants present a valid passport upon check-in so that the stay can be registered with local police.
- Certificate of vaccination against yellow fever, tuberculosis, dengue fever, zika, and avian influenza (H5N1) is required.
- Applicants traveling with cash of more than 5,000 USD are to declare it at the port of entry.
- Proof of financial sufficiency in form of a bank statement or traveler's checks that cover the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.
- Proof of incentive of returning to Angola at the expiration of the visa should be submitted.
- Travelers who violate Vietnamese laws, even unknowingly, may be expelled or arrested.
- Applicants should also avoid purchasing liquor from street vendors, as the authenticity of the content cannot be assured.
- Travelers are strongly advised to purchase medical evacuation insurance before visiting Vietnam.
