United Kingdom Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The United Kingdom Visitor visa is also known as the Standard Visitor Visa.
- It allows its holder to engage in recreational activities such as tourism and visitations, to take part in businesses and to receive private medical treatment.
- If you want to travel to the UK for medical treatment, your illness must not be an infectious one and you have to explain why you want to receive treatment in the UK and not in Cambodia.
- Holders of this visa coming for business-related activities can attend conferences, meetings or training also.
- You can study for up to 30 days as long as it is not the main purpose of your visit.
- This visa does not allow paid or unpaid work, public funds or living in the United Kingdom for long periods of time.
- The visitor visa is typically cheaper than the tier visas and costs £95 but if you are coming for treatments for up to 11 months, the fee is £190.
- Those coming for treatment for up to 11 months must apply for a biometric residence permit.
- Although this visa is valid for a maximum of 6 months, you can apply for a visitor's visa that lasts 2(£361),5(£655) or 10 years( £822).
- Your passport must be valid for the duration of your entire stay in the United Kingdom and any document not in English or Welsh must be translated.
- A cover letter explaining why you want to visit the UK is required.
- If you have ever been declared for bankruptcy or sued for debt even if you have been cleared, you are still to let the Consul know.
- Details of any criminal offenses should also be mentioned.
- It is possible to extend your visa as long as your stay does not exceed 6 months.
- All applicants must have accommodation booking and sufficient money for their trip before applying for the visa.
- Your visa would be refused if the Consul is not convinced that you would return to Cambodia at the expiration of the visa.
United Kingdom Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Tier 2 visa is the general work visa for the United Kingdom.
- Individuals who have been offered a professional job in the United Kingdom can apply for this visa.
- Your employer needs to be employed by a licensed sponsor who would issue a certificate of sponsorship to prove this.
- If your contract is for up to 3 years, you would be required to pay a fee of £610 per person travelling and if it is for more than 3 years, £1,220.
- Applicants would be charged an additional fee for health as part of their application.
- It takes about 3 weeks to process the visa but if you want your visa processed within 5 working days, you have to pay an extra £500.
- You can stay in the UK with a Tier 2 visa for a maximum of 5 years and 14 days, or the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 1 month, whichever is shorter.
- Holders of this visa can get a second job, participate in voluntary work, study as long as it does not interfere with their job, travel out and return to the UK and even bring family members.
- You can however not apply for public funds.
- During your visa application, you would have to prove your knowledge of English by passing an approved English Language Test or having an academic qualification that was taught in English and recognized by UK NARIC.
- Applicants are to present a certificate of health showing that they are free from Tuberculosis.
- A criminal record certificate from where you have lived for the in for the past 12 months should be provided.
- You must have £945 in your bank account for 90 days before you apply. This is to prove you can support yourself.
- Note that if you want to apply for a second job, you need to have first started working with the licensed sponsor.
United Kingdom Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Tier 4 is the General student visa for the United Kingdom and is issued to individuals above the age of 16 who has been offered admission into an institution in the country.
- The tier 4 visa allows its holders to work for up to 20 hours a week.
- Applicants would be required to pay for health insurance after paying the visa application fee of £348.
- Once you have been issued a visa, you can travel to the UK for up to 1 month before your course starts.
- You must have been admitted into the institution of study before you can start the visa processing.
- Your institution will send you a reference number called a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) once they’ve offered you a place on a course. You’ll need to enter this on your visa application.
- You are then to apply for your visa not more than six months after receiving the CAS.
- Applicants are to pass a secure English language test(SELT) to prove their proficiency in English.
- Financial power to be able to sponsor your trip through your study duration is essential.
- Travelling with a dependent family member is allowed under this visa.
- You can apply for an extension of your visa within the United Kingdom. The extension could be to start a new course or to continue an old course.
- Application for an extension must be done before the current visa expires but not over three months before the course start date on your CAS.
- Details of your accommodation for the duration of your studies should be provided.
- Previous certificates, transcripts and qualification of the applicants is required.
- All applicants would be required to take part in a physical interview and should prepare accordingly.
