United States Of America Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The United States B visa also called the visitor visa is a non-immigrant visa issued for business and tourism purposes.
- It allows a stay for a stay of up to 180 days which is extendable.
- Individuals travelling for business would be issued a B1 visa while those travelling for tourism would be given a B2 visa.
- The B1 allows the individual to conduct businesses, settle an estate, negotiate a contract among many other unpaid activities.
- B2 is typically for leisure, tourism, visitation, attending events, participating in a short course such as a cooking course and even medical treatments.
- The holder of this B visa cannot study, be employed, receive payment for aby activity or reside permanently in the United States.
- All applicants are to show proof that they have a clean criminal record.
- Your visa can be denied if the consular officer finds it necessary to deny the issuance of the visa.
- A travel return ticket is required as proof that the applicant would return to Cambodia when their visa expires and that they do not intend to take up permanent residence in the country.
- A completed DS-160 form is the first step to applying for the visa. It is important to apply for the visa well in advance to the intended travel date.
- Sufficient funds and accommodation for the duration of the stay are required.
- Business applicants require an invitation letter from their partner company in the United States and medical applicants are to present a letter from the clinic in charge of their case in Cambodia.
- All applicants are required to write a cover letter explaining why they want to visit the United States and why they should be issued a visa.
United States Of America Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa, also known as the H-1B allows U.S employers to temporarily employ foreign workers.
- Your employer is required to file a petition which would be approved by USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services)and verified by PIMS during your visa interview.
- Candidates are to have specialized knowledge in the field and a bachelor's degree or the required skills.
- The visa is typically valid for 1-3 years and can be extended to six years after which its holder can re-apply.
- Applicants would be required to prove that they have the incentive of returning to Cambodia at the expiration of their visa.
- A letter of recommendation from your current or previous employer in Cambodia would be required.
- After your visa has expired, you would be granted a grace period of up to 60 days to stay in the United States.
- Holders of this H-1B visa can bring immediate family members to the United States under the H-4 visa category as dependents.
- A Form I-129 accompanied by necessary supporting documents and fees would be approved. This is what the applicant is required to carry along to apply for the H-1B visa.
- This visa costs $190 USD and these fees are non-refundable even if the visa application is rejected.
- Note that the receipt you would receive after making your payment is valid for one year from the date of payment.
- You must schedule your interview while this receipt is valid. If the receipt expires before your interview, you would have to pay the fee again and restart the process.
United States Of America Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The United States of America student visa is divided into the F and M visa.
- The F visa is issued to individuals who want to attend University or college, High school, private elementary school, seminary or take a language training program.
- The M visa is for those who want to attend a vocational or other recognized nonacademic institution.
- You can apply for this visa after you have been enrolled in a SEVP-approved school.
- Then you would be registered for the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) by the school and would be required to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
- The school would then issue you a Form I-20 which you would use to apply for your visa at the U.S. embassy. This form must be taken to your interview.
- Intending students are also to fill the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form DS-160.
- Individuals who are between the ages of 13 years and younger and 80 years and older are not to attend an interview.
- Applicants must have a sponsor or other proof of sufficient funds for the duration of their study.
- Accommodation is also mandatory. This could be a hostel on-campus or an apartment off-campus.
- Your visa can be issued for up to 120 days in advance of the start date for your course of study but you would not be allowed to enter the United States more than 30 days before the start date.
- After you have been issued a visa, you are to resume within five months or lose your status.

Can foreigners get healthcare in the United States?
