Japan Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This business visa is for those who are going to Japan for business purposes and it allows you to stay for a maximum of 90 days.
- You can attend meetings, sign contracts, and conduct market surveys while in Japan.
- If you have a company inviting you to Japan, there should be a letter of invitation from the company stating your name and purpose of the visit to Japan.
- There should also be a business letter from your company of employment in Cape Verde stating your purpose of visit to Japan.
- You are to submit proof of financial support for your entire stay in Japan.
- An original bank statement for the last 6 months is to be provided.
- Applicants are to submit an Income tax certificate.
- A certificate of ownership of your company is required if you are self-employed
- Note that business travelers can also be issued multiple-entry visas that is valid for unlimited entries within 1–5 years upon request.
Japan Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to Cape Verdeans who wish to study in Japan.
- Applicants of this visa are to submit a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) issued by their institution or school of admission in Japan.
- A international passport is required for the application process and travel.
- The passport photo must be specifically taken for the visa application process and should not be similar to any of the applicant's previous passports.
- A copy of the applicant's last school leaving certificate or transcript is also to be submitted for this visa processing.
- Proof of financial sustenance, self-sponsored applicants are to have at least 3000JPY in their bank account.
- For sponsored applicants, they are required to submit income statements of the sponsor along with bank statements and scholarship award letters.
- If the applicant's sponsor is a resident in Japan, he or she is expected to submit a proof of residency in Japan.
- A student visa lets you stay in Japan for as long as 4 years. However, this is on the condition that you are fully enrolled in an institution in Japan.
- You are not allowed to take up paid employment while in Japan on this visa.
Japan Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for persons who are going to Japan for tourism, sightseeing, leisure purposes, and visiting family and friends.
- This visa is valid for 90 days.
- The application form should be filled with a black pen.
- If you are visiting family, you re to provide proof of your relations with that person.
- Your original birth certificate or marriage certificate is to be submitted.
- The original copy will be returned to you after verification has been completed by the embassy.

- You are advised to have in your bank account at least $5000.
- A detailed record of your trip should be submitted along with all other documents.
- You cannot take up any form of paid employment with this visa.
- Applicants are to provide a copy of their round-trip ticket.
- You are to leave Japan on or before the expiration of this visa.
Japan Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Japan transit visa is issued to travelers who want to transit through Japan to another country.
- A detailed flight itinerary issued by the airline company is required.
- A visa to the final destination must be submitted alongside a valid passport.
- Applicants are allowed to stay in the city for only a maximum of 24 hours with a guarantee letter from a resident in Japan.
- If the stay goes beyond 24 hours, they are expected to submit a letter of guarantee from a resident in Japan or proof of sufficient funds to stay in Japan for a short period.
- Applicants are not allowed to tour with this visa.
