Can a Laos visa be extended?

Laos offers a 30-day visa on arrival at all of its airports at land crossings. Visas may be extended twice for up to 90 days without leaving the country. Visa can be extended at the immigration office in Vientiane, which costs US$2 per day if you apply before the expiry date.
