Basic Travel Requirements for Chadians visiting Belgium

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belgian Visa.

  • A Belgium visa application form. it should be fully completed and signed.
  • Two identical photos. The photographs should be no older than three months.
  • Your Congo passport should contain at least two blank pages in order to be able to affix the Belgium visa sticker and it should be valid for at least 3 months beyond the date you exit Belgium.

Belgium Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to applicants with the intention of traveling to Belgium for tourism purposes, sightseeing and recreational activities.
  • You can visit friends and relatives in the country with this visa.
  • A national passport with validity of at least 3 months after the end of the planned journey is required.
  • Completed and signed the application form with 1 recent color photograph (5x3cm) with white background glued on the application.
  • Proof of sufficient personal financial means like a copy of updated passbook / recent 3-month bank statement/income tax papers/salary slips is required.
  • If you have a host in Belgium, the letter of invitation from your host in the country indicating full contact details and addresses should be provided.
  • Home address, telephone number and a valid means of identification of your host in the country should be presented.
  • Holders of this visa are not permitted to work while in the country.
  • In the case of a minor who has not reached the age of 18 years traveling with one of the parents only or alone: a notary affidavit mentioning the consent of the parents must be submitted. This document needs to be apostilled. 
  • Proof of paid visa fees should be provided.
  • You are expected to leave the country once your visa expires
  • A copy of the flight ticket reservation is required.
  • Copy of travel insurance valid in Belgium (and other Schengen countries), coverage minimum 30.000 Euro should be provided.
  • You are advised to submit your application a minimum of 1 month before the foreseen travel date.
  •  The visa fee is non-refundable if the visa is denied.
  • Proof of civil ties to your home country in the case of your birth certificate, the marriage certificate should be provided.

Belgium Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Belgium business visa is issued to foreigners visiting the country for business purposes.
  • This visa allows you to attend business meetings with partners and sign and negotiate business contracts.
  • Copy of Hotel reservation for the total duration of the stay in Belgium should be provided.
  • An original copy of the letter of invitation written on the company’s letterhead should be provided. The letter should include; the corporate name of the company, address of the company and purpose and duration of the visit to the country.
  • A certificate of business registration of the company should also be provided.
  • Confirmation letter of the company in DR Congo explaining the purpose and duration of the journey and the guarantee to cover all costs that may arise during the stay in Belgium.
  • Proof of financial means like recent 3-month bank statements, income tax papers, 3 last salary slips should be provided.
  • If the company is sponsoring all aspects of your trip to the country, the letter of invitation should be accompanied by the original bank statement of the company from the past 12 months.
  • If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
  • You are not allowed to be fully and gainfully employed while in the country.
  • This visa does not serve for study purposes.
  •  You can submit your application at the earliest three months before your planned visit.
  • The visa fee is non-refundable if the visa is denied.
  • Proof of the paid visa fees should be provided.

Belgium Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Belgium tourist visa is issued to applicants who have been accepted into an institution/school in Belgium for study purposes.
  • Applicants should ensure they have been accepted by the school or institution before applying for this visa.
  • The student visa must be obtained before entry into the country. To be eligible for a Belgium student visa, you must provide proof of being enrolled as a full-time student in one of Belgium’s institutions for higher education.
  • You must also provide proof of full payment of tuition fees for the course.
  • Proof of medical insurance which must cover the total number of days you will be staying in Belgium as a student.
  • Proof that you satisfy the conditions for access to higher education by providing your transcripts and certificates.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means for your duration of stay in Belgium.
  • If you are a minor traveling alone, a letter of consent signed by both your parents should be provided during the visa application process.
  • Medical certificate attesting that the applicant is not carrying any of the diseases which might endanger public health is required.
  • Certificate attesting to the lack of any convictions for crimes or offenses under common law if the applicant is older than 21 years of age is required.
  • Proof of paid visa fee should be provided.

Belgium Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Belgium work visa is issued to applicants visiting Belgium to work there.
  • Holders of this visa are liable for receiving a salary for the job done during your time in the country.
  • Your employer in Belgium should provide a letter of invitation stating that you have been employed in his/her company.
  • In the case of working as an employee, you are to provide an original work permit. (the work-permit or exception of work-permit has to be applied by the future employer in Belgium with the Regional Ministry of Employment).
  • For non-Chadians, a copy of your Chadian stay permit should be provided.
  • Proof of paid visa application is required.
  • If you are traveling with your spouse, your original marriage certificate should be provided during the visa application process.
  • This visa does not allow you to study in the country.
  • You are required to obey all the rules of this visa during your time in the country.
  •  Medical certificate attesting that the applicant is not carrying any of the diseases which might endanger public health is required.
  • Before issuing the work permit, the Ministry of Labour must determine that there’s no Belgian or other EU national who can fill the position and they may send the employer candidates for the job from their lists of Belgians drawing unemployment benefit.
  • Proof of paid visa fees should be provided.
  • The applicant has to submit his/her application by him/herself. (All the documents issued by a government authority should be submitted in original).
