Basic Travel Requirements for Comorans visiting Germany

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a German Visa.

  • Germany's visa application form that is completely filled and signed by the applicant.
  • Comoros passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date of exit from Germany.

Germany Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The tourist visa is issued to people who wish to enter Germany with the purpose of visiting friends or relatives or to just sightsee and experience the country and its culture.
  • Application form completed in English or German. The form should be fully, honestly and correctly completed, printed and signed at the end.
  • Recent passport photographs taken against a white background.
  • A valid national passport that have at least one blank page in order to be able to affix a visa sticker on it.
  • Personal bank statements for the last three months.
  • Applicants should submit a confirmation letter from your health insurance stating coverage for emergency medical treatment with a minimum of €30,000.
  • Proof of accommodation which could be a hotel booking for your whole stay in Germany, or a letter of invitation from a family member or friend residing in Germany.
  • Proof of flight reservation 
  • Proof of financial means. This could be a bank statement not older than three months or a letter of sponsorship by another person.
  • A personal cover letter should explain the reason why the applicant wishes to visit Germany, and how long the applicant intends to remain there.
  • A letter of invitation from the person the applicant is visiting in Germany, which may take the form of sponsorship or private accommodation. The invitation letter should also include the address, period of stay and contact details of the host.
  • For minors, if travelling unaccompanied by parent(s), consent letter signed by both parents and a copy of their original birth certificate is required.

Germany Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Germany visa application form that is fully completed with correct information that complies with the information given in the other documents. 
  • Two identical photographs no older than three months is required.
  • Comoros national passport with a validity of three months beyond your planned stay in Germany.
  • The passport should at least one blank page in order to be able to affix the visa sticker.
  • A document that confirms you have obtained health insurance, which will cover costs of at least 30,000 Euros in case of an accident or illness and repatriation in case of death.
  • Flight itinerary which includes flight reservations, rail tickets or other means of transport which you are planning to use to reach Germany.
  • Proof of accommodation for your entire stay in Germany which could be a hotel booking (with details including the address, phone number and email of the hotel) or a letter of invitation by a host residing in Germany that confirms they are willing to take you in for the whole period of the stay in Germany.
  • Proof of civil status: Marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, if applicable
  • Applicant’s company bank statements from the previous three months
  • Invitation letter from the business partner in Germany in English or German mentioning the applicant's details, the dates, and purpose of the trip with a detailed schedule of the business meetings (day to day schedule).
  • Applicant’s company covering letter with entire travel plan (itinerary) mentioning the position, duration of your service, the dates, and purpose of the trip and if your expenses are being covered by the employer or not.

Germany Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Fully completed and signed visa application form.
  • A letter issued by your health insurance company that confirms you have travel insurance, which covers any medical emergency or hospitalization with a minimum of €30,000.
  • If the applicant is an employee, a letter from the applicant’s employer, which confirms the dates of the leave is required.
  • Certificate from a medical doctor confirming the need for specific medical treatment in Germany.
  • Certificate from a medical doctor confirming that necessary treatment can be provided by a clinic/hospital in Germany.
  • Proof of advance payment of the treatment / financial arrangements with the medical doctor in Germany.
  • Correspondence between the sending medical doctor and the receiving medical doctor
  • A guarantee letter from the applicant to assure the patient’s capacity to cope with the extra medical costs (when expecting unforeseen costs of medical treatment to happen)
  • If the applicant will be staying at a hospital throughout the whole period in Germany, a confirmation note by the hospital to prove that should be submitted.
  • If the hospital will not be accommodating the applicant, then either a hotel booking, an invitation letter by a German host or a rental contract will be required.
  • Applicants are required to submit proof that you are capable of covering any other expenses.
  • If the applicant is a minor child who needs medical services offered in Germany, a copy of the child’s birth certificate and letter of consent from both parents. 
  • The consent letter and all required documents should be translated in an English or German language.
