Visa type details
Tourist visa
- A Slovak tourist visa is for individuals travelling with the aim of recreation, leisure or tourism.
- Slovakia tourist visa is valid for 90 days.
- This visa is also issued to those who want to visit friends or relatives. In this case, the Slovakian host will have to send an invitation letter.
- The invitation letter should state the relationship between the Slovak host and the applicant. It should also carry the contact details and address of the host.
- Medical insurance having a coverage of at least 30,000 EUR is required. This would be used to take care of emergencies during your trip.
- It is necessary to have a return flight reservation proof even if it is temporary. This will prove that the applicant has the incentive of returning to home country at the expiration of the visa.
- Without a place to stay in Slovakia, a visa will not be issued. If you will be staying in a hotel, do not use reservations that could be canceled before the visa application process is complete.
- A recent bank statement, not older than three months should be submitted. This will let the Consul know that you will be able to cater for yourself during your stay in Slovakia.
- Since 01/12/2008, extension of visas have been possible in rare cases. The visa could be extended for a period of 90 days.
- Tourism and visits do not justify visa extension as such, you are to exit Slovak republic upon expiration of your visa.
Business visa
- This visa is for the purpose of conducting business, attending a conference or training.
- Holders of this visa are not allowed to take up any form of employment or engage in manual labor.
- If you would be attending a conference, pre-registration is required and the documents should be submitted along with other visa documents.
- It allows a maximum stay of 90 days in 6 months after which you must return to Comoros.
- A letter from the host company in Slovakia is required before you can apply for this visa.
- The company must be a registered company and the letter should introduce the applicant, state the reason for the trip and who the sponsor of the trip would be.
- A cover letter from your Comoros employer is required. It should introduce the applicant and state that the applicant has permission to travel.
- The cover letter should be printed on the company’s letterhead and signed.
- Self-employed applicants should submit an incorporation letter and proof of up-to-date income tax returns (ITR).
- Pension allowance slip should be presented for retired applicants.
- Applicants who want to work must acquire a Slovak work permit. It is granted when the limit for season work is a maximum of 180 days per year.
- You will be deported for overstaying your visa regardless of how valid your reasons may be.
