Germany Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of engaging in business activities, attending trade fairs, and conferences.
- The visa is a short-stay visa with a validity of 90 days, spreading over a period of 180 days.
- You are to provide an original invitation letter from the company or partner you are visiting in Germany. Information such as the phone number of the company or partner must be given in the letter.
- The invitation must be duly signed by an authorized signatory of the company. The letter must indicate the date of arrival and the duration of the business trip. The applicant’s reason for visit must also be stated.
- Previous contracts, invoices, and correspondences which show that there have been commercial dealings or trade relationships between the companies involved should be provided.
- A copy of the mission statement confirming the reason and duration of your business trip should be provided. If it is your first travel in the Schengen area, the original of this document is required.
- Foreigners who have the intention of attending a trade fair or conference in Germany should attach their invitation to the trade fair or conference with other required documents.
- Work certificate or recent employment contract issued by the applicant’s employer in your country should be provided.
- Business card and an update of CASNOS from the people in Liberal Professions are required.
- Applicants who are not citizens of Djibouti are required to present a copy of their Djibouti residence permit.
- If the applicant of this visa is married, a copy of the applicant’s family card is required.
- Presenting all the necessary document does not necessarily mean instant issuance of the visa required.

Germany Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Tourist Visa is issued to people who are travelling for tourism purposes.
- Applicant must have the intention of staying in Germany for a maximum of 90 days within 180-days of their visa validity, only for tourism purposes.
- If you have been invited by someone with permanent residence in Germany, original and photocopy of the formal obligation (German residence Law) according to page 66-68 from the host in Germany should be provided.
- You will be required to provide a copy of your family record, marriage certificate, or residence card of the parent in Germany, if the person you are visiting is a relative, spouse or parent.
- Proof of the visa applicant’s socio-occupational situation is required during the visa application process.
- Applicants who have a job in a company or establishment in Djibouti should ensure they submit a copy of the work certificate or employment contract issued by the employer.
- Certificate of registration of the trade register of the employer in Djibouti should be provided.
- Retirees of Djibouti who are willing to travel to Germany should provide a certificate of receipt of retirement pension.
- Unemployed applicants are to provide proof of their current financial status.
- Minors travelling without supervision or with a single parent are required to provide parental authorization signed by both parents, as well as a copy of the passport of both parents.
- All the documents to be submitted during the visa application process that are in Arabic are to be translated to either German, French or English.
- This visa does not entitle you to take up employment in Germany for the duration of your time in the country.
- For this visa type, applicants who are over the age of 12 years are charged €60, while applicants between the ages of 6 and 12 are charged €35. Children between 0 - 5 years are not required to pay a fee.
Germany Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Transit Visa is issued foreign travellers who are transiting through Germany to another country bordered by Germany or beyond.
- This visa type is required when you are making a stop-over in the country or you are transferring between two stages of an international flight.
- The German tourist visa is valid for 24 hours only.
- With this visa, you are not allowed to leave the transit area of the airport.
- Applicants of this visa are strongly advised to lodge their visa application at least three months before their planned date of departure.
- It is worth noting that visas are not issued on the same day of application. It may take up to 15 days or more.
- The passport of visa applicants should have at least three blank pages for stamps.
- Two passport-sized photographs which bear a complete likeness to the visa applicant should be provided. The passport must not be older than 6 months and must be taken in a plain white background.
- Original and a copy of air ticket to the final destination should also be presented. The copy is retained by the German Embassy.
- A valid entry visa for the destination country is required.
