Netherlands visa requirements for Equatorial Guineans

The Netherlands visitor's visa is issued to foreigners visiting the country for a short visit.

The purpose of the visit can either be for vacation, sightseeing, business, conference or to attend an event.

This visa also known as a Type-C Schengen visa.

The visitor's visa is issued as a single, double or multiple entry visa.

This visa allows the holder to remain in the Netherlands for a maximum period of three months (90 days) within six months (180 days) from the entry date into the Schengen area. 

The visa application form must be completed and signed by the applicant before submission.

If the purpose of your visit is to see a friend or relative You are required to submit a letter of invitation from the person you are going to visit.

The letter should contain the full contact address of your host.

 Applicants travel itinerary should be submitted.

Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation should be submitted.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant’s entire duration of stay should be submitted.

Proof of incentive of returning to home country at the expiration of your visa should be submitted.

Minors travelling without their parents are to submit their birth certificate alongside a letter of consent from one or both parents

The visa application must be done at the embassy.

All documents must be written in Dutch, English, French or Spanish.

The Netherlands students visa is issued to Equatorians travelling for study purposes.

The Students visa is also referred to as a Schengen Type-D visa and the purpose of the visit (study) is always appended on it.

Before applying for this visa, one should be sure he or she has been offered admission into an educational institution in the Netherlands.

Applicants letter of admission from the institution should be sent to the embassy.

Applicants must also apply for a residential permit which would cover their duration of studies.

The applicant will be issued a  Provisional residence permit(MVV).

 It is an entry visa that allows you to enter the Netherlands at any point within six months. This is to show that you are not a tourist in the country. Students are advised to apply for the MVV at least 3 months before their intended arrival date in the Netherlands.

 if you have been accepted into a Dutch institution and offered an MVV, your host institution is obliged to apply for a residence permit on your behalf. This will be done within 5 days of your arrival. 

Applicants are to submit transcripts and certificates from previously attended institutions that qualifies them for the course of study in which they have been given admission

You should note that your student visa can be withdrawn if you do not maintain sufficient progress in regards to your academic performance (at least 50 per cent of the required credits each academic year).

Proof of financial sufficiency should be submitted. A minimum of 850 euros per month is required by the applicant.

Applicants may be asked to take some civic integration test at the embassy

Applicants are to submit a proof of medical fitness.

Proof that the applicant is free from tuberculosis and yellow fever should be submitted.

Applicants are allowed to work part-time as long as it does not affect their studies

Applicants can apply for an extension of the visa to cover their duration of study.

The medical is issued to Equatorial Guineans travelling to seek medical treatment.

Applicants coming to the Netherlands for medical treatment must apply for a residence permit. 

A letter to the Medical Advice Bureau in the Netherlands is needed. This letter should clearly state the nature of the illness, Why treatment elsewhere will be inappropriate and If you are capable of financing the treatment.

A letter from your doctor in Equatorial Guinea should be submitted to the embassy. The letter should state the type of ailment and why treatment would be best gotten in the Netherlands.

The hospital or doctor in the Netherlands will also need to send a medical attestation confirming the date of appointment as well as their knowledge of your medical situation.

Applicants who are employed are to submit a letter from their employer stating the awareness of your leave and duration.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the medical bills and duration of stay should be submitted.

Proof of full or part payment of medical bills should be submitted.

If the applicant is a minor, the original birth certificate along with a consent letter from one or both parents should be submitted.

Equatorial Guineans on a medical visa are not allowed to work while they are in the country.

Visa holders are not allowed to take up permanent residence in the country, but temporary residence is allowed.

The applicant has to sign a medical declaration. By signing this declaration, the applicant consents to being involved in any medical research, if necessary.

Applicants are expected to leave the country at the expiration of their or completion of their medical treatment.
