Basic Travel Requirements for Eritreans visiting Egypt

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Egyptian Visa.


  • Completely filled and signed visa application form.
  • Original Eritrea International passport valid for at least 6 months on entry into Egypt.
  • Two passport-size color photograph taken in a plain white background that meets the visa photo specification.
  • Round trip reservation.
  • Travel itinerary.
  • Non-Eritrea are required to present a valid resident permit.
  • Receipt of paid visa fee.
  • Documentation proving home ties is necessary to show that you have intentions to return to your country.
  • For minors, a notarized copy of their birth certificate, as well as a notarized letter of support from both parents consenting to travel to Egypt, is needed.
  • Proof of financial capability.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Documentation stating the purpose and duration of the trip might be necessary.
  • Holders of onward tickets can transit for a maximum time of 48 hours.
  • Leaving the airport is permitted for passengers with transit time between 6 and 48 hours. Passengers with a transit time fewer than 6 hours may leave the transit area but not the airport.
