Basic Travel Requirements for Eritreans visiting Mexico
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Mexican Visa.
- An international passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into mexico and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- A fully completed and signed visa application form.
- Minors are to have their parents/legal guardians sign their form.
- Three passport-size photographs (4.5 x 3.5 cm) taken in white background.

Mexico Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

- A passport valid at least three months beyond your intended period of stay is required.
- An invitation letter from your host residing in Mexico should have the valid their home address and telephone number.

- Travelers should be able to spend USD 50 per day for their expenses during their stay in Mexico.

- An original copy of your round-trip or tour ticket is required.

- Minors are expected to provide an original copy of their birth certificate to Embassy Consulate.

- Travelers who overstay their visas are fined or banned from entering Mexico
- The visa is extendable. You will have to visit any National Institute of Migration office or delegation to apply for an extension of your tourist migration form.
- ALL foreign citizens travelling to Mexico are expected to fill out an Official Entry Immigration Form (FMM) prior to their arrival to Mexico.
- Those who wish to apply for an extension are expected to apply 30 days before expiry date.
- Travelers are advised to apply for a tourist visa at least 4 weeks in advance of their planned travel date so that there is enough time for the application procedure to be completed on time.
- The processing time takes about 2 days .
- It is illegal to be drunk and disorderly while in public spaces.
- If a traveler wishes to rent a car, a vehicle insurance is needed.
- Possession of illegal drugs is a federal offense. Offenders can jailed or fined.
- Foreigners should not get involved in political activity including, demonstrations or protests. Foreigners who engage in this type of activity may be asked to leave the country.

- Students from Eritrea can take part-time or full-time courses in any Mexican higher institutions with this visa.
- Students must have been offered admission into one of the recognized institution in Mexico.
- Scholarship recipients are expected to present the scholarship letter from the institution, stating the exact amount of the scholarship and the tuition it covers.
- The original admission letter written on the school’s letterhead should be provided. This proves that you have been offered admission into the school and you can attend classes.
- The bank account statements to prove that you have sufficient funds for your study in Mexico is needed.
- Previous Certificates and transcripts from schools attended in the past are to be submitted during the visa application process.
- Receipt of your paid the tuition fee for your particular program of study is to be provided.
- You are not allowed to work part-time for 20 hours per week when school is in session and full-time when the school is on break.
- Minors are to provide the original copy of your birth certificate.
- The visa can be extended to cover the duration of your study program.
- You must obtain a temporary resident card while they studying in Mexico.
- An international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever is required.
