  • Ethiopians planning to travel to El Salvador for sightseeing, vacation, tourism or other leisure activities are eligible to apply for the tourist visa.
  • The tourist visa also permits its holder to visit friends or relatives residing in El Salvador.
  • The tourist visa also permits you to attend social or cultural events or festivals in El Salvador.
  • Holders of this visa are NOT permitted to accept payment for any services rendered while in the country.
  • Your Ethiopian passport must have at least 2 blank pages and must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you intend to leave El Salvador.
  • You are required to fully complete and sign the visa application form before submitting. You should note that incomplete application forms may not be processed or delay processing.
  • To show that you can cater to all your financial needs while in El Salvador, you are required to provide your most recent bank account statements.
  • You must provide a copy of your round-trip flight ticket or onward ticket to show that you intend to leave El Salvador once your visa expires.
  • You must also show proof of your hotel reservation for the entire duration of your stay in El Salvador, with the name and contact details of the hotel clearly showing.
  • Minors must present their original birth certificate and a letter of consent to travel to El Salvador signed by their parents or guardians if they are travelling alone, with someone other than their parents/guardians or with one parent.
  • All visitors must obtain a tourist card upon arrival in El Salvador. The tourist card costs US$10.

  • The business visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to El Salvador for business, professional or commercial purposes.
  • You are required to accurately fill the visa application form and sign it before submission.
  • 2 passport-size photographs taken with a light background should also be submitted with the visa application form.
  • You are required to provide a letter of invitation from the partner company in El Salvador stating the nature of your business in the country and how long you intend to stay.
  • As proof of your employment, you are required to provide the original copy of your employment contract, signed by both you and your employer.
  • You should also submit copies of your recent payslips as well as a leave letter stating awareness of your travel and when you are expected to resume back to work.
  • You are required to submit a police report showing no criminal record.
  • A business letter typed on your company letterhead and signed by an authorised officer in your company must also be submitted.
  • The letter should state your name, role in the company and the purpose of your travel to El Salvador as well as a guarantee that the company will take care of all your travel expenses while you are in El Salvador.
  • Any proof of previous trade relations between your company and the partner company should be presented. This could be bills of lading, customs clearance or such documents.
  • You should also provide proof of a hotel reservation for the entire duration of your stay in the country.
  • All visitors must obtain a tourist card upon arrival in El Salvador. The tourist card costs US$10.
