Basic Travel Requirements for Ethiopians visiting Israel

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Israeli Visa.

  • An Ethiopian passport that is valid for at least 6 months from your departure date from Israel.
  • A completed and signed visa application form.
  •  A photocopy of your passport and the visas in it.
  • 2 recent passport-size photographs (5x5 cm).
  • A copy of your confirmed itinerary.
  • Proof of hotel accommodation for the entire duration of your stay in Israel.
  • Proof of financial means for the duration of your stay in Israel e.g. your bank statements of the last 6 months.
  • Proof of travel medical insurance that covers the duration of your stay in Israel.
  • A copy of your booked round-trip flight ticket.
  • Proof of payment of the visa fee.

Israel Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Israeli visitor visa (B/2) is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Israel for vacation, tourism, pilgrimage, sightseeing or other leisure activities.
  • Your Ethiopian passport used for your visa application must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you intend to leave Israel.
  • You are to submit 2 recent colour passport photos (5x5 cm) with a completed and signed visa application form.
  • As proof that you intend to leave Israel once your visa expires, you are required to submit a copy of your round-trip flight ticket.
  • You must also provide a copy of your hotel reservation in Israel for the entire duration of your stay in the country.
  • A confirmed travel itinerary stating the places you intend to visit in Israel as well as how long you plan to stay in the country must be submitted.
  • To show that you can cater to all your financial needs while in Israel, you are required to submit copies of your bank statements of the last 6 months. The bank statements must be signed and stamped by the bank manager.
  • You must present a formal letter from your employer as proof of your employment status. This letter should state your name, your role in the company and your monthly salary. It should also state awareness of leave and when you are expected to resume back to work.
  • An authenticated business license of your employer must also be submitted.
  • If you have received an invitation letter from your host in Israel, you should present it.
  • You are required to provide proof that you have travel insurance from an Ethiopian insurance company.
  • A police clearance certificate must also be submitted.
  • Receipt for the payment of the visa fee of ETB 680 (about $24) must be provided.

Israel Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Ethiopians who plan to travel to Israel for business purposes, such as business meetings, summits and conferences, are eligible to apply for the Israeli business visa (C).
  • Your Ethiopian passport used for your visa application must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you intend to leave Israel.
  • You are to fill a visa application form, sign it and submit it with 2 recent colour passport photos (5x5 cm).
  • As proof that you intend to leave Israel once your visa expires, you are required to submit a copy of your round-trip flight ticket.
  • You must provide a copy of your hotel reservation in Israel for the entire duration of your stay in the country.
  • A confirmed travel itinerary stating the places you intend to visit in Israel as well as how long you plan to stay in the country must be submitted.
  • If you will be travelling to Israel with your spouse and children, you are to present original copies of your marriage certificate and your children’s birth certificate.
  • You must present a letter from your company stating the purpose of your travel to Israel.
  • You are also required to present a document proving your correspondence with the partner company in Israel. This could be a letter of invitation. The document should contain the contact details of the partner company.
  • If there exist previous dealings between your company and the partner Israeli company, you are required to provide proof of this. This could be payment receipts for goods delivered, bills of lading or other such documents.
  • A copy of your company’s bank account statements, signed and stamped by the bank manager, must be submitted.
  • You are required to provide proof that you have travel insurance from an Ethiopian insurance company.

Israel Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Ethiopians travelling to Israel for medical treatment should apply for the Israeli visitor visa.
  • A valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date you plan to leave Israel should be used for your visa application.
  • You should also submit 2 recent, clear passport photos (5x5 cm) taken with a white background.
  • A formal letter from a hospital stating the details of the treatment you plan to receive in Israel should be submitted.
  • You are required to provide proof of hotel reservation for the entire duration of your stay in Israel.
  • You must also submit a copy of your return flight ticket to Ethiopia or your country of origin.
  • You are required to provide proof of travel insurance that covers the entire duration of your stay in Israel.
  • You must provide a document confirming the payment of your medical treatment.
  • Note that all required documents must be submitted when applying for a  visa; if you don’t, your application will not be accepted.

Israel Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Israeli student visa (A2) is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Israel to study.
  • Before you apply for the Israeli student visa, you must have been offered admission to study in an educational institution in Israel. The letter must be signed by a university representative.
  • Your Ethiopian passport used for your visa application must be valid for at least 6 months after your program ends.
  • You are to fill an A2 visa application form, sign it and submit it with 2 recent colour passport photos (5x5 cm).
  • Travel insurance that covers the first month of your stay in Israel must be provided.
  • A formal invitation from the university in Israel stating room, board, health insurance and the starting and finishing date of your program.
  • The original copy of your birth certificate must be submitted.
  • You should also provide proof that you can provide for your financial needs while in Israel, including paying the tuition.
  • Proof of payment of the visa fee (ETB 1320) must be provided.
  • You can send the documents via DHL but must pay for the return way fee as well.
