Yemen Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Ethiopians can apply for Yemen tourist visa if they intend to travel to the country for tourism purposes.
- This visa has two types:
- Single-entry visa: This visa is valid for 3 months and it costs 35 US dollars.
- Multiple-entry visa: This visa is valid for 6 months and it costs 65 US dollars.
- The government of Yemen refuses entry and transit facilities to holders of Israeli passports, or passports indicating Israeli stamps.
- Letter from travel/tourism company who is organizing the trip or airline ticket reservation in and out of the Republic of Yemen must be provided.
- Vessels in the region of the Red Sea, Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden, including near the island of Socotra, should operate under a heightened state of alert as increasing tensions in the region increase the potential for direct or collateral damage to vessels transiting the area.
- Due to the ongoing civil unrest throughout the country, travelers should not rely on significant assistance from local authorities.
- Persons violating Yemeni laws, even unknowingly, may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned. Penalties for possession, use, or trafficking in illegal drugs in Yemen are severe, and convicted offenders can expect long jail sentences and heavy fines.
- Photography of military installations, including airports, equipment, or troops is forbidden. In the past, such photography has led to the arrest of foreigners. Military sites are not always obvious. If in doubt, ask specific permission from Yemeni authorities.
Yemen Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Yemen business visa is available to Ethiopians intending to travel to Yemen for business purposes.
- The business visa has two types:
- Single-entry visa - valid for three months.
- Multiple-entry visa - valid for six months.
- Applicants are required to obtain a letter of invitation. The organization you will be visiting is responsible for providing the invitation. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:
- Be written on company letterhead.
- Include the full local address and phone number of the organization or person to be visited.
- Request the same validity of visa as in the business introduction letter.
- Specify the number of entries you are requesting for your visa.
- You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip. Details of your intended arrangements must:
- Include a copy of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination.
- Show the traveler's full name (as printed in his or her passport).
- Proof of sufficient funds.
- You must provide proof that you possess sufficient funds. Your financial details must:
- Include a financial guarantee from your employer.
- Be on business letterhead paper.
- A copy of your medical report is required. The medical report must be issued by a licensed physician who must sign each copy and must certify that the applicant is free of any contagious disease.
- The license number and address of the physician should appear on each copy. Medical reports should be used within three months from the date of issuance.
