Basic Travel Requirements for Gaboneses visiting Canada

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Canadian Visa.

  • The Gabon passport will need to be valid for at least six months beyond the date of return from Canada.
  • The passport must have at least two blank pages.

  • Copy of provisional flight booking and travel itinerary (i.e. accommodation reservations).
  • You may need to provide a medical history or proof of good health.

  • Minors (under 18) travelling alone will need a letter of authorization signed by both parents or legal guardians. 
  • For minors travelling with one parent, a letter of authorization from the non-accompanying parent or legal guardian is required.

Canada Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A tourist visa is issued to foreigners travelling to Canada for tourism purposes such as recreation, relaxation or holidays.
  • Canada tourist visa application form that is completely filled and signed by the applicant.
  • Bank or other financial statements to prove the applicant has enough funds for the trip to Canada.
  • A travel itinerary,  if the applicant has already booked air tickets or just a description of what the applicant plan to do once in Canada.
  • A Canada visa letter of invitation from the applicant’s family or friends if the applicant is visiting them.
  • Proof of the relationship if the applicant will be visiting family members.
  • The immigration statuses of the applicant's family or friends by submitting a copy of their Canadian residence permit.

  • Proof that your stay in Canada is temporary and that you will return to your home country once your visit is over, such as a lease, and property deed.
  • Applicants are not required to work or study in Canada with a tourist visa.
  • Court documents that prove the applicant have a clean criminal history in Gabon.
  • All the documents that you have that are in another language other than English or French should be translated.

Canada Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A Canadian business visa is issued to foreigners travelling for business purposes such as signing business contracts, engaging in trade fairs and attending business meetings or conferences.
  • Applicants are required to submit receipt showing proof of paid Canada visa fees.
  • Proof of financial means by submitting bank statements for the last 6 months.
  • Proof you will return to your home country once the Canadian visa expires.
  • Applicants are required to provide valid identity card and Gabon residence permit if the applicant is not a citizen of Gabon.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of a valid medical exam result showing that the applicant has no illness or disease that is contagious.
  • A copy of the confirmed travel itinerary is required. 
  • An invitation letter from the company you are visiting from the Company, workshop, conference, or trade show organizers in Canada is required.
  • The invitation letter must clearly state the nature of the business to be carried out in Canada.
  • Registration documents of the company you work for.
  • A letter from your employer stating your job title, salary, and reason why you are visiting Canada.
  • Registration documents from the Canadian company which has invited you to Canada.
  • A declaration letter from you to the Government of Canada where you explain why they should give you a visa.
  • All documents must be in English or in French and if they have been translated, you must provide a certification that the translation is correct.

Canada Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A Canadian student visa is issued to foreigners visiting Canada for the purpose of studying in any Educational institute in Canada.
  • A passport which validity that extends to cover the intended stay in Canada is required.
  • Proof of Acceptance by a learning Institution by providing the acceptance letter from the educational institute the applicant is planning to attend.
  • Proof that the applicant would have enough funds to pay the tuition fees as well as take care of living expended. 
  • The Canadian Immigration deems a student would require at least Canadian $10,000 for every year of the stay. 
  • Two passport-sized photographs, neutral facial expression, plain background as well as no headgear (unless for religious purposes).
  • The size of the passport image should be at least 35 mm x 45 mm and be recent (not older than 6 months).
  • Canadian Immigration requires international students from Gabon to undergo a compulsory Immigration medical examination from empanelled doctors. 
  • The panel physician will perform a complete medical exam and may refer you for chest x-rays and laboratory tests.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of the English Language Proficiency Exam Scores such as TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT or IELTS.
  • The applicant is required to submit an essay stating the purpose of the trip to Canada and why the applicant has chosen a particular institution.
  • Transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates from schools the applicant attended is required.
  • Letters from the court and police in Gabon to prove that the applicant has a clean criminal record.
  • A Letter from the applicant to the Government of Canada explaining why they should issue a student visa and study permit.
  • If a minor is going to Canada to study and need a custodian that is not a parent of the minor, then you also need to submit a Custodian Declaration Form which states who the custodian of the child is and must be signed by the parents or legal guardians of the child.
  • All the documents must be translated into English or French and you must have certifications and proof that the translation is correct.
