Application requirements
Documents Gabonese applicants need to provide.
- Original and signed Gabon passport must be valid for 6 months beyond stay in Russia.
- The Original passport should have two empty pages for Russian visa stamps.
- Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Russian visas.
- Original Russia visa application completed online, printed and signed, plus one copy.
- One recent passport photograph with a plain/white background.
- The applicant is not required to wear glasses in the photo.
- Passport photographs with glasses must not reflect in the lenses.
- An invitation letter from the host (a family member, friend, tour organization or host company/organization) in Russia is required.
- A copy of the certificate of vaccination against yellow fever is required from applicants coming from infected areas.
- Receipt showing proof that the visa application fee has been paid is required.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations for the whole duration of stay in Russia is required.
- A copy of the original bank statement of the last three months showing proof of sufficient funds for the entire duration of stay is required.
- A copy of return travel tickets to Gabon is required.
- An issued police report from the local police department in Gabon showing that the applicant has no history of criminal activities in Gabon.
- Applicants are not required to overstay the required duration of stay in Russia.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- Gabon original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages.
- The passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the intended departure date from Russia.
- Two copies of the Russian visa application form completed and signed.
- One passport-size photo signed on the back.
- Letter from tour company or cruise line confirming itinerary and including a copy of the confirmation from an authorized Russian travel company which shows the reference number and confirmation number for the visa.
- Letter of invitation from the host in Russia stating the relationship with the applicant, the purpose and duration of stay in Russia
- Confirmation of hotel arrangements from an authorized Russian travel company, or directly from the Russian hotel, showing reference number and confirmation number for the visa.
- Two copies of an official tourist voucher and confirmation invitation issued by a Russian hotel, travel agency or joint venture registered as a tourist company with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- A copy of the tourist voucher and confirmation should be carried with the passport and Russian visa.
- The Russian visa application form for minors should be completed and signed by a parent.
- A photocopy of the child's birth certificate and the parents' passport information page and an original signed letter from at least one parent must be included authorizing the Russian Consulate to issue the Russian visa and explaining who the minor will be travelling with to Russia.
- If the applicant possesses a current valid Russian visa in an expired or previous passport, the applicant must also submit that passport. the Russian visa must be cancelled and a new one issued in your current passport.
Business visa
- Gabon's original passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the required period of stay in Russia.
- The original passport should have at least 2 blank visa-pages for stamps.
- Russian visa application form completed and signed by the applicant.
- One recent passport photograph taken against a white background is required.
- A business invitation letter from the company in Russia stating the nature of the business to be carried out in Russia and the duration of the applicant’s stay.
- The letter must contain an official seal and legal address of the agency, signature, and name of official authorized to invite foreigners to Russia.
- Business invitations to Russia are processed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Federal Migration Service.
- An original Business Cover Letter from the Gabon based company stating that the applicant’s employer is aware of the business leave.
- If the company in Gabon or Russia will be responsible for the applicant, it should be stated in the required letters.
- Travel itinerary showing entry and exit dates from Russia is required.
- Applicants are required to provide copies of previous passports and visas.
Student visa
- Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Russia,
- The passport must have at least two adjacent blank passport pages available for Russian visa stamps.
- Original Russia visa application completed online, printed and signed, plus one copy.
- One recent 1 3/8 x 1 3/4 inch passport style photograph - head and shoulders, face forward, neutral expression, in colour, and with a plain/white background.
- The applicant should not wear glasses in the photo unless the photo in the original passport includes glasses.
- Photos with glasses must not have glare or reflection in the lenses.
- Original letter of invitation from the Russian Ministry of the Interior provided by the Russian host institution.
- A letter from the university in Russia confirming that the visa will be issued for no more than 90 days, and will not be extended
- Emergency requests must be submitted with an itinerary or a copy of the tickets.
- A photocopy of a minor's birth certificate and copies of both parents' passport information page is required even if travelling together with parents.
- Copy of negative HIV blood test result taken within the previous 90 days; an oral HIV test is not accepted. Results must contain the name, address and phone number of the hospital/laboratory/clinic where the test was taken.
