Application requirements
Documents Gabonese applicants need to provide.
- Passport that is valid for at least three months after the intended date of travel and three months after scheduled return from travel.
- The passport must have two full blank pages to affix the visa.
- Three coloured copies of the data page of the passport.
- Completed and signed the visa application
- If you are a minor then the application must be filled and signed by both the parents along with photocopies of parent’s passports.
- Two 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm coloured passport photographs that are not more than 1 month old and with a white background
- Passport photographs should be glued and not stapled to the application form.
- Personal Covering letter from the applicant explaining in detail the purpose of the visit.
- Coloured photocopies of previous visas if any.
- For non-Gabon nationals residing in Gabon, a residence permit endorsed on passport should be provided.
- Both your passport and residence permit in Gabon must be valid for at least three months beyond the returning date of your trip.
- Proof of accommodation such as hotel booking/reservation in Spain.
- Proof of sustenance either as bank statements travel cards, credit cards) to show that you can sustain yourself financially when you are in Europe

- Personal Statement of Account for the past six months and that of your company, if you are being sponsored.
- General income generated by a property, share certificates, bonds, and proof of ties to Gabon, if any.
- Flight ticket/reservation including a return flight to Gabon is required.
- Applicants below 18 years who are travelling unaccompanied by one or both parents must present their birth certificate as well as a sworn affidavit from the said parent/parents authorizing their trip.
- The affidavit must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja. While children travelling with both parents will only need to submit their birth certificate.

Tourist visa
- Spain visa application form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- 2 recent passport photos showing whole-face capture with a light background.
- Gabon's passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond the return date.
- The passport must have at least two blank pages.
- Applicants are required to submit copies of previous visas and passports if available.
- A copy of your return-ticket reservation. It is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa.
- Spain Travel insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000€ coverage within Spain.
- A cover letter from the host stating the relationship with the applicant, stating the purpose of visit to Spain.
- The host in Spain could either be a friend, family member or tour organization.
- Receipt showing proof that the applicant has paid for the tour should be attached to the letter of invitation from the tour organization.
- Flight reservation with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Spain.
- Hotel Booking Reservation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Spain.
- Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, ration card if applicable).
- Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Spain.
Business visa
- Original application form for Spain Visa must be duly filled in and signed by the applicant in blue or black ballpoint ink.
- 2 recent photographs (35-45 mm) of the applicant with a white background must be attached in the application form.
- The application form must be correctly filled, facilitating all the possible information requested in the form including postal address, email address, and telephone number.
- Passport of the applicant with at least 2 blank pages, which should be valid for at least three months after the duration of the intended stay.
- The passport should have been issued in the last five (5) years.
- Two recent photographs of the applicant with a white background. The face must be bold in the photographs.
- Invitation Letters of Spanish companies must be addressed to the Consulate General of Spain in Gabon, they must be written in Spanish and must be sent to the applicant by Courier Service.
- Applicants must also include an original Invitation Letter along with their applications. Photocopies and scans are not accepted.
- The Invitation Letter from the Spanish company must state the reason behind the invitation, the personal data of the guests (name and surname, passport number, expedition and expiration dates, etc.), the kind of trade relations and its antiquity,
- Proof of commercial relations with the Spanish company (original Bills of Lading, custom clearance documents, etc.).
- It is also advisable to provide hotel bills, money exchange receipts, boarding passes, etc., as proof of previous trips to Spain.
- All original documents of the Gabon company that is sending the applicant on the business trip (Certificate of Incorporation or Registration, Memorandum of Articles of Association and Tax Clearance Certificate.)
- Applicants must present documents indicating that they possess sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to Gabon.
- If the applicant is a businessman/businesswoman, all original documents relating to the company and bank Statements of the last 6 months (personal and business).
- Covering letter from the applicant, explaining in detail the purpose of the visit. All cover letters must include details of any other accompanying persons as well. This includes business associates traveling for the same purpose.
- Original bank statement of the applicant for the last six (6) months is required for submission at the Consulate General of Spain with the original stamp and signature of authorized signatory of the bank (Online Bank statements without original stamp and signature are not acceptable).
- Proof of travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros to cover any expense which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and /or emergency hospital treatment.
- The duration of the insurance cover must include the entire period of stay and additionally fifteen days more after the proposed date of departure out of Spain.
- Applicants are informed that travel medical insurance issued only by Gabon insurance companies would be accepted for visa procedures.
- Applicants are strongly advised not to purchase tickets before their application is processed.
- Applicants should note that each photocopy of all original documents must be made and brought along with the original documents for submission.
