France Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to persons who intend to visit France for tourism purposes.
  • You can also visit family and friends while on this visa.
  • Applicants seeking this visa need to submit an invitation letter from a family member or host living in France.
  • This letter should clearly state the address and contact details of the host, as well as your relationship with them.
  •  During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
  • Applicants may also need to provide a document that shows their intention to return home once their visa expires.
  • The France tourist visa is valid for only 90 days.
  • You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires.
  • This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.

France Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to Ghanaians traveling to France for business purposes.
  • You will need to provide an invitation letter from the French company you will be visiting.
  • This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied with the date and actual purpose of your trip.
  • If you’ve had previous business dealings with the company, proof of this should be presented.
  • If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
  • Your bank statement from the last 6 months is needed.
  • Self-employed people will submit proof of business registration.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • It must be made clear whether your trip will be sponsored by the employer or the local company.

France Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to foreigners visiting France for the purpose of study.
  • There are different categories of study visas depending on your situation.
  • Non EU/EEA citizens must obtain a student visa to study in France, even if your stay is less than 3 months.
  • The visa fee for long stay national visa for study purposes is €50 for students applying for bachelors/ masters courses.
  • This fee is the same for dual course applicants, as well as exchange students.
  • A cover letter explaining the study project and a CV/resume is required.
  • Applicants must also submit proof of sufficient funds to last them the entire duration of the study.
  • A proof of medical insurance with coverage valid in France is needed.
  • Spouses and children may be permitted to reside in France while you study, but this is conditional.

France Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • If you’re planning on taking a job in France, you need to get a work permit first.
  • If you wish to apply for a French work visa, be aware that it is mandatory to have first obtained employment there.
  • Your employer must contact the OFII (Office Français de l’Immigration et de l’Intégration - formerly the ANAEM) at one of the addresses listed on their website.
  • The OFII will then send a letter to the Consulate of France with its decision to deny or grant the visa.
  • Only after the Consulate has received this letter, can the applicant make an appointment to visit the visa section in person.
  • Applicants from African countries are not required to apply in person at the Consulate of France.
  • Working illegally in France could lead to deportation as well as either yourself or your employer facing a fine or a prison sentence.
  • In 2016, in an attempt to attract more foreigners, the French government made it easier and more streamlined to obtain certain working permits for non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizens through the introduction of the new “Talent Passport” permit.
