Basic Travel Requirements for Ghanaians visiting Greece

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Greek Visa.

  • A duly completed visa application form
  • 2 passport-size photographs
  • Your passport and copies of your previous visas – valid for at least 3 months beyond return date. Your passport must also have at least two blank pages.
  • Travel insurance confirmation of a minimum 30,000 € coverage within Greece and the entire Schengen area.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Greece and itinerary.
  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, if applicable).
  • Flight Itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Greece.
  • Hotel Reservation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Greece.
  • Means of subsistence – proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Greece.

Greece is known for its world heritage sites, islands, seas, and beaches. Tourists visiting the country can be assured of being engaged throughout their time in the country.

Greece Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to persons who intend to visit Greece for tourism purposes.
  • This visa can also serve as a visitor visa. You can visit relatives and friends with this visa during your time in the country.
  • If you will be staying with family or friend, an invitation letter from your host in Greece is required.
  • The home address and telephone number of the host should be included in the letter, as well as a valid means of identification.
  • You cannot study or work on a tourist visa.
  • Children should have the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • Receipt of your paid visa application fees should be presented during the visa application process.
  • You cannot take up part-time or full-time courses while in the country with this type of visa.
  • You are requested to exit the country once your visa expires.

Greece Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to Ghanaians traveling to Greece for business purposes.
  • Travelers are free to attend business meetings and conferences while on this visa.
  • Holders of this visa cannot get paid for any of the services they render while in the country.
  • You cannot take up any course of learning or be enrolled in any of the schools in the country with this visa.
  • Your current employer should give you a certificate confirming that he/she is aware of your business travel. This letter should be presented at the embassy or consulate while applying for your visa.
  • You must not overstay on this visa.
  • Overstaying is an offense and carries serious consequences.
  • Greece business visa for Ghanaians is valid for up to 5 months.

Greece Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This type of visa is issued to those intending to receive medical treatment in Greece.
  • A medical report from a recognized hospital is required.
  • It must be clearly stated in the report why Greece is the best place to get treatment for the condition.
  • A letter from the hospital in Greece confirming your appointment and the duration of the medical treatment is needed.
  • The receipt of paid medical fees should be provided.
  • If you are a minor, you should make sure you provide the original copy of your birth certificate.
  • Receipt of paid visa application fees is required.
  • Means of subsistence during your time in the country should be provided.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to work while in the country.
  • You are required to leave the country at the expiration of your visa.

Greece Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • People going to Greece to study will need a student visa.
  • The Consulate of Greece requires applicants to apply for Greek visas directly.
  • A personal interview may be necessary at the nearest Greek Consulate before visa is issued.
  • Greece universities compete against top universities across the world not only in terms of courses offered but also cultural experiences and scenic beauty.
  • Greece welcomes international students to all its universities as long as they have the necessary paperwork in place.
  • European citizens do not need a visa to study in Greece for a period less than 90 days.
  • This option is not available to citizens of Ghana.
  • The first thing you need to have before applying for a student visa is a valid passport.
  •  You will also need 3 recent passport sized color photographs of yourself. Apart from this, a number of other documents are also required.
