Namibia Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to persons intending to visit Namibia for tourism purposes.
  • You can also visit family and friends while on this visa.
  • All visitors to Namibia must carry a valid passport.
  • Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Namibia.
  •  Visa applicants intending to visit a friend or family need to submit an invitation letter from a family member or host living in Namibia.
  • This letter should clearly state the address and contact details of the host, as well as your relationship with them.
  •  During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
  • You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires and present documents that show you have the intention to do so.
  • This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.

Namibia Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to Ghanaians traveling to Namibia for business purposes.
  • Unlike other Non-Tourist Visa, the Namibia business visa is issued for at least a month up to 1 year— for whole five years at a time.
  • You will need to provide an invitation letter from the Namibian company you will be visiting.
  • This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied with the date and actual purpose of your trip.
  • If the intention is to attend a meeting or seminar, confirmation/invitation from the conference organizer/institution is required.
  • If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months) is required.
  • Self-employed people may need to submit proof of business registration.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • It must be made clear whether your trip will be sponsored by the employer or the local company.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted.

Namibia Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • All foreigners travelling to Namibia for study will need a student visa.
  • It is not allowed for you to enter Namibia on a tourist visa in the hope of then applying for a Namibia study permit and visa.
  • The study permit and visa must have been gotten before entry into Namibia.
  • Visas and permits are not interchangeable, so even if you are already in Namibia on a visa or permit (other than a permanent residency permit) you would still need to make an application for a Namibia study permit and visa.
  • The holder of a Namibia study permit and visa may not enter into any employment unless the visa and permit relates to such employment.
  • The applicant must submit a letter of admission from a learning institution in Namibia.
  • Past academic record of the applicant is also required.
  • A certificate of yellow fever vaccination should be provided.

Namibia Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreigners hoping to take up paid employment in Namibia must secure a work visa first.
  • Namibia offers two types of work permits.
  • One of them is the Namibia work visa which is a short-term temporary work visa (up to 6 months) and the other is a work permit which is for a longer period of time (1 to 3 years).
  • Obtaining a Namibia work visa is not a short process and processing times could vary from 7 to 90 working days.
  • Applicants are thus advised to always begin their applications in good time.
  • The applicant’s educational certificates are needed during the application.
  • If married to a Namibian citizen, the marriage contract will be submitted.
  • All application forms must be sent directly to the Namibian Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Submission of incomplete requirements will result to delay in application.
  • All permits are subject to the approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs before entering Namibia; therefore applicants who acquired permits from the other Namibian Ministries or Institutions are still required to get an approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs for it to be acknowledged.
