  • This is the type of visa issued to persons intending to visit Papua New Guinea for tourism purposes.
  • You can also visit family and friends while on this visa.
  • All visitors to Papua New Guinea must carry a valid passport.
  • Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Papua New Guinea.
  •  Visa applicants intending to visit a friend or family need to submit an invitation letter from a family member or host living in the country.
  • This letter should clearly state the address and contact details of the host, as well as your relationship with them.
  •  During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
  • You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires and present documents that show you have the intention to do so.
  • This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.

Papua New Guinea Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to Ghanaians traveling to Papua New Guinea for business purposes.
  • You will need to provide an invitation letter from the company you will be visiting.
  • This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied with the date and actual purpose of your trip.
  • If the intention is to attend a meeting or seminar, confirmation/invitation from the conference organizer/institution is required.
  • If you are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months) is required.
  • Self-employed people may need to submit proof of business registration.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • It must be made clear whether your trip will be sponsored by the employer or the local company.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should be submitted.

  • The Work Visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of taking up paid employment in Papua New Guinea.
  • Before initiating the visa application process, ensure you have been offered a job in the country.
  • A letter confirming that the applicant of this visa has been offered employment by an employer in the country is required.
  • A copy of the employment contract signed by both the employer and the employee should be submitted during the visa application process.
  • The applicant’s employer in Papua New Guinea should provide proof that there was no citizen of Papua New Guinea willing and available to take up the job before you were offered the job.
  • Proof that you will not be paid below the minimum wage paid to nationals of the country is required.
  • Applicants who do not have the right qualification that matches the job they have been offered will not be issued this visa.
  • A police certificate which shows that the applicant has a clean criminal record is required.
  • An official letter approved by the Ministry of Labor and Employment in Papua New Guinea should be provided.
