  • Ghanaian nationals can stay in Rwanda visa-free for a duration of 90 days.
  • Rwanda grants free visas on arrival to Ghanaian citizens for stays up to 90 days.
  • You must apply for an extension of your visa while it is still valid.
  • A grace period of 5 days after a visa has expired is allowed for a person to either depart or renew their visa without a penalty; otherwise, the person will be subjected to a penalty and may be refused a visa extension.
  • Your visa must be valid for six months at the time of entry into Rwanda, with one blank page.
  • Visitors must have a certificate of yellow fever certificate.
  • If you are also visiting Kenya and Uganda, it is better to apply for the East African visa which allows entry into all three countries on a single visa.
  • Visitors must show proof of sufficient funds before entry into Rwanda.
  • Ghanaians visiting Rwanda with pets must obtain a certificate of vaccination and must obtain an import licence from the embassy or the high commission.
  • Ghanaians visiting Rwanda must check for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia, and influenza vaccines.
  • Direct flights are available from the Kotoka International Airport Accra, Ghana to Kigali, Rwanda. The estimated flight time is between 5 - 6 hours.
  • Christianity is the most widely practiced religion in Rwanda, Islam is also commonly practiced in Rwanda.
  • Because the time zone currently used in Rwanda is the Central African Time (GMT+2), Rwanda is 2 hours ahead of Ghana.
  • Getting around in Rwanda is possible through various public means of transportation including Taxis, Motor-Taxis, Buses, and Mini-Buses.
