Japan Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Citizens of Guinea Bissau  who intend to visit Japan for leisure and tourism would have to apply for a tourist visa
  • The visa is  issued as the Short-stay visa which is valid for 3-4 months from the date of entry.
  • The tourist visa has a single entry visa basis.  Applicants can gain entry into Japan for a period of 30 days.
  • It allows for a  double-entry, which means applicants can gain entry to  Japan twice for two short trips within 6 month period. 
  • Multiple entry are valid for a period of one year to five years, depending on the visitor's nationality.  
  • The short-stay visa allows tourist to do activities such as sightseeing, visiting friends, or attending conferences or courses. 
  • An original Guinea Bissauan signed passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry is required.
  •  A recent 45mmx45mm passport-sized photo taken on a white background should be submitted along with the passport. The applicant's name should be written at the back of the photo.  
  • You are to provide bank statements from the previous six months to prove your financial stability.
  • Married couples are to submit their marriage certificate issued within the last year. 
  • You are expected to submit your birth certificate for identification at the embassy.
