Bahamas Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Bahamas visitor's visa is issued to Indians traveling The Bahamas for tourism and visitation purposes.
- This visa is valid for 30 days but can be extended.
- Visitors are required to declare currency and other negotiable instruments of $10,000 or more upon entry into and exit out of The Bahamas.
- A job letter from the applicant's employer stating that permission to take a leave was granted must be provided.
- If the applicant is self employed, they must provide a business licence.
- An original bank statement must be provided.
- Applicants are required to provide a police report showing a clean criminal record.
- A flight itinerary is required. This should have details on the places to visit, duration of stay, entry and exit dates.
- Applicants traveling to Bahamas for visitation purposes must provide invitation letter from their host.
- Visitors traveling with children are required to provide their birth certificate to prove parental relations.
- All foreign marriage, birth, and death certificate submitted in support of a visa application must be legalized in India before submission.
- If entering The Bahamas by boat, there is a flat fee to clear Customs and Immigration, which is $150.00 for boats 35 feet and under and $300.00 for boats 31 feet and over.
- Public transportation is available by minibus (known as jitneys) and taxi.
- The possession or use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy, is a criminal offense in The Bahamas and can result in time in prison.
