Basic Travel Requirements for Indians visiting Canada
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Canadian Visa.
- An original passport valid for at least six months from the period you intend to arrive in Canada and must have two blank pages too which would be available for visa stamp.
- A fully signed and completed Canadian Visa application.
- If a minor is traveling to Canada from India, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Three colored passport-size photographs (50 mm wide X 70 mm high) taken in white background.
- Travel documents are required.
- Proof of financial capability.
- A proof of accommodation/hotel reservations
- A copy of a return flight ticket
- A police report to prove the applicant does not have a criminal record.
- Medical insurance that covers the supposed medical expenses during the duration of your stay.
- Documents that confirm the purpose of the travel and the applicant’s ties to the home country.

Canada Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Canadian visitor visa is issued to Indians traveling to Canada for visitation and tourism purposes.
- The Canadian visitor visa has two purposes:
- Tourism or holidays in Canada.
- Visiting family or friends.
- The Canadian visitor visa allows you to go to a Canadian port of entry and ask for permission to enter the country. The Border Patrol Officers are the ones who are allowed to grant or deny you entry based on your documents and your situation.
- Applicants are required to provide a letter of invitation from their family or friends if they are visiting them.
- Proof of the relationship must also be provided.
- Court documents that prove you have a clean criminal history must be provided.
- Your employment or education status through a resume or diplomas, as well as a letter from your employer stating that you have contractual obligations to fulfill and you must return to your home country is required.
- Applicants are required to provide a declaration letter addressed to the Government of Canada explaining why they should give them a visa.
- If you plan to travel to Canada with a minor who is not your own child or for whom you do not have full legal custody, CBSA may require you to present a notarized affidavit of consent from the minor’s parents.
- Canadian law prohibits trafficking of controlled substances and narcotics, including those which may be legal to possess under the law of certain states.
- Canadian law requires that officials confiscate any firearms, ammunition, and other weapons from persons crossing the border who do not declare having the items in their possession. Confiscated firearms, ammunition, and weapons will not be returned. Possession of an undeclared firearm may result in arrest and imprisonment.
- Travelers are strongly advised to inspect all belongings thoroughly prior to travel to Canada to avoid the accidental import of firearms or ammunition.
- Computers and cell phones are subject to searches without a warrant at the border and illegal content can result in the seizure of the computer as well as detention, arrest, and prosecution of the bearer.

How much money do I need to show for Canada tourist visa?
In general, an individual foreign national may need to provide “proof of funds” in the amount of approximately $1,230 CAD per month, so if you plan to bring at least $2,000 CAD for this 30-day tourist visit.
How long does it take for Canada visa stamping?
The ideal processing time for a visitor visa for Canada is a maximum of 15 days. A student visa needs 3 days for processing, while a work visa takes a maximum of 4 days.
Can I work after study in Canada?
You may be eligible to work in Canada while studying, if your study permit includes a condition that says you can work on or off campus. You must also meet all the other requirements. You can only start working in Canada when you start your study program. You can't work before your studies begin.
What is the maximum age limit to study in Canada?
Up to 12 points will be allotted to candidates between the ages of 18 and 35 years. Each year above the age of 35 will reduce the allocation by 1, with no points being awarded as of age 47.
