Application requirements
Documents Indian applicants need to provide.
- A valid passport or travel document valid for at least 3 months from intended exit date.
- Two recent passport sized photographs (35 mm x 45 mm)
- Travel reservations to and from Czech Republic.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Recent bank statements.
- Medical insurance which covers at least €30,000 of medical costs.
- Your application should be submitted no earlier than three months and generally no later than 15 days before your intended trip. If you apply less than 15 days before the journey, your application may not be processed in time.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- Indians traveling to Czech Republic for tourism and business purposes can apply for a tourist visa.
- This visa is valid for 90 days in a period of 180 days.
- Visitors traveling with amounts of €10,000+ euros or equivalent must have it declared upon entry.
- A copy of your return-ticket reservation is required. This will proof that you have the incentive of returning back to your country.
- Travel medical insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000 € coverage within Czech Republic and the entire Schengen area must be provided.
- Applicants are required to provide cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Czech Republic and itinerary.
- Flight itinerary reservation with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from the Czech Republic is required.
- Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in the Czech Republic is required. This can come in form of hotel bookings.
- Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Czech Republic is required. This should come in form of a recent bank statement.
- Visitors are required to do currency exchanges at reputable banks or legitimate money kiosks.
- ATMs are widely available throughout major cities so you can avoid carrying a lot of cash.
Business visa
- The Czech business visa is issued to Indians traveling to Czech for business purposes.
- An invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in the Czech Republic detailing purpose and duration of your stay should be provided. The letter should be on the company's letter head detailing its address and contact details.
- You'll also need to provide a letter from your employer in India acknowledging your business trip, purpose and duration.
- Documentation showing proof of previous trade relations between you and the company should also be provided.
- The certificate of business registration of the company in Czech Republic is important.
- You'll need to provide documentation affirming who would be liable for all expenses in Czech Republic. This letter could come from your employer in India or the visiting company.
- Financial statements of whoever is sponsoring the trip should also be submitted.
- You are to provide proof of a valid medical insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 covering any medical emergency for the duration of your stay in Czech Republic.
- Minors should ensure that they have the original copy of their birth certificate along with a signed letter of consent from their parents.
Student visa
- Indians traveling to Czech Republic for study purposes can apply for a study visa.
- Documentation confirming sufficient financial resources for the duration of your study in Czech Republic is required.
- For this visa, all documents except the proof of financial sustenance must be submitted in Czech or translated by the Czech jury.
- Personal documents you provide are to be original or notarized photocopies. These documents must not be older than 180 days.
- You'll need to submit transcript from your previous institution of learning. A copy of the school license from the Ministry of Education is also needed.
- For minors, a letter of attorney from their parents as well as their valid means of identification is required.
- You must provide proof of accommodation which could be a letter from your school verifying place of accommodation, a rental agreement or an accommodation statement from an apartment owner.
- A medical report fully detailing the applicant's health status is important.
- You are to submit a valid criminal history report from India to show that you have a clean criminal record.
- Valid health insurance that has a minimum of €30,000 to cover the length of your study is required.
- Foreign students visiting the Czech Republic for more than 30 days must register at the Foreign Police Department. Registration must be done within 3 days from the date of arrival into the country.
