- An Indian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- Duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Passport-size photographs (35 mm x 45 mm) taken in white background.
- Travel document.
- Proof of financial support.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of return flight ticket.
- Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.

Tourist visa
- The Ghanaian tourist visa is issued to Indians looking to travel to Ghana for tourism purposes.
- Letter of Invitation from a family in Ghana must be provided. The mobile number of signatory of the invitee should be mentioned on invitation letter. Also attach a copy of ID card of the signatory of the invitation letter.
- The applicant should provide two references accompanied by names and addresses in Ghana as support documents. Hotel details where he/she will be lodging with the name and contact details of the concerned person at the hotel can be called a reference.
- Proof of yellow fever vaccination must be provided.
- Travelers holding amount of 28,000 Ghana cedis must have it declared upon entry.
- There are a number of ongoing chieftaincy disputes in Ghana that generally involve competition over limited resources. Several of these disputes have erupted into violence and unrest during recent years. Exercise caution in rural areas and remain alert to outbreaks of unrest.
- Luggage and travel document theft occurs at Kotoka International Airport in Accra and in hotels across Ghana. Keep your documents secure at all times and don’t leave your baggage unattended.
- Be wary of all offers of unsolicited assistance at the airport from anyone other than uniformed porters or officials.
- Public smoking is illegal in Ghana.
- Mosquito borne illnesses such as malaria, yellow fever, and dengue are a significant problem and prevention of bites and proper yellow fever immunization are important for all areas.
- Before coming to Ghana, you should consult with your physician regarding the advisability of taking malaria prophylaxis and obtaining needed vaccinations. While in Ghana, you should:
- Carry and use insect repellents containing either 20 percent DEET, picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus, or IR3535.
- Treat clothing and tents with permethrin.
- Sleep in screened or air conditioned rooms under insecticide-impregnated mosquito nets.
Business visa
- Indians traveling to Ghana for business purposes can apply for the Ghanaian business visa.
- Business travelers are required to provide a business cover letter from their India-based company.
- All letters must be printed on company letterhead that displays an India mailing address.
- You are required to provide an official letter of invitation from the company or organization that you will be visiting. The letter must:
- Be written on an official company letterhead.
- State the nature of the business to be conducted (i.e., business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.)
- Include the full local address and phone number of the company or organization you will be visiting.
- Specify the number of entries and desired validity of the visa you are requesting.
- You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip. Details of your intended arrangements must:
- Include a copy of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination.
- Show the traveler's full name (as printed in his or her passport).
- Mobile no. of signatory of the invite company should be mentioned on invitation letter. Also attach a copy of ID card of the Signatory of the invitation letter.
