Application requirements
Documents Indian applicants need to provide.
- An Indian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- Duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Passport-size photographs (35 mm x 45 mm ) taken in grey background.
- Travel document.
- Proof of financial support.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of return flight ticket.
- Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country, e.g. verification from applicant’s employer.
- A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.
- Medical Insurance to cover duration of entire stay.
- Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
- Copy of travel itinerary.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- Indians traveling to Taiwan for tourism purposes should apply for the Taiwan tourist visa.
- This visa is valid for 90 days and cannot be extended.
- The applicant is required to have a return ticket, this shows that they have the incentive of returning to their country after their stay expires.
- The applicant must provide proof of accommodation in form of hotel bookings or addressing of sponsor they will be staying with.
- Vaccination against yellow fever and Hepatitis A is required. Proof of these must be provided.
- Travelers are required to declare cash amounts over 100,000 New Taiwan Dollars (TWD) upon entry.
- Taiwan shows no leniency for medical or recreational marijuana. Carrying or shipping marijuana into Taiwan is prosecuted as drug trafficking.
- Taiwan has strict regulations on importing/exporting firearms, other weapons, drugs, antiquities, currency, ivory & other animal products, fruits & plants, and many other items.
- To detect and prevent the spread of diseases, Taiwan scans the body temperature of all arriving passengers with an infrared thermal apparatus.
- Public transportation is cheap, convenient, and generally safe. Taxis and buses may swerve to the side of the road to pick up passengers with little notice or regard for other vehicles.
Business visa
- The Taiwan business visa is issued to Indians traveling to Taiwan for business purposes.
- Applicants are required to provide a certificate of business name registration and SEC registration
- Applicants who are employed should provide a certificate of employment.
- Invitation letter from Taiwanese company/organization in Chinese letterhead clearly outlining purpose of visit and duration of stay must also be provided.
- Request letters from applicant’s company is required.
- Taiwan is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) as businesses from around the world.
- A signed letter of invitation (this must include a copy of the inviter’s ARC or ID – front and back. Expired ARCs will not be accepted.
- If you are not expected by the inviter in Taiwan and are traveling for Tourism purposes, please attach the confirmed hotel/guesthouse booking and use fill in their details on “Reference in Taiwan” section on the application form.
