Tourist visa
- Tourist visa is issued to individuals who intend to visit Venezuela for tourism purposes
- However, embassies do not currently issue a tourist visa because of the high level of unrest in the country
- Venezuela issues single and multiple-entry tourist visa
- The single-entry can be used for a one-time visit to Venezuela and the multiple-entry is used for several entries into Venezuela for the duration of the visa
- The tourist visa is valid for a period of 90 days
- It generally takes 2-15 days to process the visa depending on the embassy or consulate
- You are required to provide proof of accommodation which could be a hotel reservation or an apartment
- If you will be staying with a friend or relative, the person has to write an invitation letter
- The invitation letter should carry information such as the relationship between both parties, duration of stay, name, address and phone number of the inviting party
- Traveling minors are required to have a copy of their original birth certificate and a notarized letter from their parents or guardian
- Holders of this visa are not allowed to take up any form of employment or study
- You must provide proof of enough money for your trip preferably a recent bank statement
- It is possible to extend your visa for an additional period of 90 days after which you must exit the country.
Business visa
- A business visa is needed for individuals who are traveling to Venezuela to carry out business activities
- It can also be used to attend conferences and seminars, purchase business materials and hire staff
- If you are traveling to Venezuela for a conference, a proof of registration for the conference is required during the visa application processing
- A letter of invitation from your host is required.
- The invitation letter should state the duration of the trip, the person responsible for bills incurred during the trip and detailed address of the host
- Whoever is paying for the trip has to include a recent bank statement preferably from 3 months earlier
- Employed applicants are also required to provide a letter from their employer stating that your employer is aware of your trip and that you will return to your home country at the end of the trip
- Self-employed applicants should include a copy of their business registration certificate and proof of assets in home country
- Venezuela business visa is also multiple entry and is valid for 180 days
- You are allowed to enter and exit Venezuela numerous times during the visa validity.
- Visa extension for 90 days is allowed and can be done in the country.
