- An original Indonesian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- Duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Passport-size photographs (2 x2') taken in white background.

- Copy of return flight ticket.

Visa type details
Tourist visa
- Indonesians can apply for the Burundian tourist visa if their intentions are to travel to Burundi for tourism and visitation purposes.
- Proof of yellow fever vaccination must be provided by the applicant.
- Proof of status such as a copy of the applicant's green card is required.
- A copy of an itinerary with details that includes; duration of stay, the reason for stay, entry and exit dates must be provided.
- Applicants are required to provide a copy of their round tickets, showing that they'll return to Malaysia after their visa expires.
- Applicants are required to provide a copy of their recent monthly bank statements. The statement must show the following:
- The applicant's name as the account holder.
- The balances of the accounts.
- The date of the statement.
- An employment verification letter from the applicant's employer on business letterhead, with contact details, stating that a leave of absence has been granted is required.
- Proof of accommodation must be provided, this can come as a copy of confirmed hotel reservations.
- Applicants visiting friends or family must provide a letter of invitation with the contact information of the host and visitor.
- Visitors traveling with minors under the age of 18 must bring the following documents:
- A notarized letter of authorization signed by both parents or a legal guardian.
- Parents' passport copies. A copy of the information pages of both parents' signed passports..
Business visa
- The Burundian business visa is issued to Indonesians traveling for business purposes.
- This visa is valid for 30 days, but it can be extended to 90 days.
- The applicant is required to provide a letter from his or her employer in Indonesia. The letter should be addressed to the Embassy of Burundi and signed by a senior manager.
- Proof of any previous dealings between the sponsoring company in Burundi and the host company in Malaysia should be provided if any.
- The letter should introduce the applicant and state the nature of the business to be conducted. If the applicant is meeting more than one company, the names and addresses of the companies should be stated.
- The letter should also state the following:
- Purpose of the trip.
- Activities to be performed during the trip.
- Source of financial responsibility or expenses to be covered by the applicant's company or host company.
- Duration of stay.
- An official letter of invitation from the host company in Burundi should be provided. The letter should be written on the company’s letterhead and signed by an authorized signatory of the company.
- The letter should state the duration and nature of the business to be carried out and if the applicant would be sponsored by the company. The valid contact address of the company should also be included in the letter.
