Basic Travel Requirements for Indonesians visiting Greece

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Greek Visa.


  • An original Indonesian passport issued not more than 10 years earlier and valid for at least 3 months from the date of departure from Greece.
  • The passport must contain at least two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Previously issued Schengen visa (if there is any).
  • A duly completed and signed visa application form should be submitted.
  • Two identical passport photographs(35mm x 45mm) taken on a light background.
  • Travel insurance worth a minimum of 30,000 Euros and valid for the entire Schengen area should be provided.
  • A detailed cover letter stating your purpose for embarking on this trip.
  • Proof of accommodation for the duration of stay in Greece.
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the trip.
  • Letter of invitation(if any).
  • Flight itinerary.
  • Birth certificate for minors.
  • Return trip ticket.
  • Proof of paid visa fees.

Athens is  a safe place to visit.   Crimes are very rare. 


Can I wear jeans in Greece?

it's a good idea to pack a pair of jeans (and a windbreaker or light jacket) because it can get windy and chilly some evenings and you might find it uncomfortable to wear shorts while having dinner or drinks on an outdoor terrace.


Can I drink tap water in Athens?

water, in Athens and other large towns, tap water is drinkable. However, in most islands and in few mainland towns, bottled water is recommended in order to avoid health issues during your trip to Greece.


Can I flush toilet paper in Greece?
Don't flush toilet paper in Greece. The Greek pipes just get clogged. The toilets will handle a small amount of paper, so don't panic if you forget once or twice while you get used to it.
