Entry Requirements

  • Citizens of Ivory Coast looking to visit Chad for up to 90 days are allowed to do so without a visa.
  • A valid passport, however, is required for entry.
  • Passports are expected to be valid for at least six months from the time of arrival.
  • Passports are expected to carry blank pages for stamps.
  • Visitors are expected to carry onward/return tickets or other documents pertinent to their next destination.
  • Visitors are required to hold proof of yellow fever vaccination.
  • On arrival, visitors are required to obtain a special permit issued by the Minister of Interior, necessary for all destinations in Chad. This permit might take a while to process.
  • At this time, there are no direct flights from Abidjan to N’Djamena, Chad and so intending visitors are expected to make ready their transit visas for stopovers.
  • Intending visitors are required to pay an airport tax of XAF 5,000 upon departure on an international flight. Students and Diplomatists are exempt from this tax.
