Entry Requirements

  • Ivorians intending to visit Senegal can be granted a visa-free entry for a maximum period of 90 days.
  • Intending visitors must possess a valid passport to be presented on arrival at Senegal.
  • The least duration of validity the passport is expected to carry is six months.
  • Passports must carry blank pages for entry stamps.
  • Tourists who wish to stay beyond the 90-day validity should apply for an extension at the Immigration department in Senegal.
  • Visitors to Senegal must provide proof of accommodation for their entire stay in the country. This could be in the form of a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter from a host in Senegal.
  • They are also required to provide proof of Yellow Fever vaccination.
  • Onward/return tickets and other alternative documents necessary for the visitor’s next trip must be readily available.
  • Import of local and foreign currencies are allowed so long as the sums are declared on arrival.
  • There are no airport taxes expected from visitors upon arrival or departure from the airport.
  • Ivorians visiting Senegal with pets must have a health certificate and proof of rabies vaccination no more than 30 days prior to arrival. 
  • A Veterinarian health certificate issued less than 48 hours before departure is also required.
  • Tourists are also required to provide proof of enough funds to spend during their stay in the country.
  • On entry and exit, Ivorians with amounts above XOF 20,000 will be required to declare it.
  • Senegal has a tropical climate, with a dry season from December to April characterized by hot, dry, harmattan wind.  The rainy season runs from May to November.
