Congo Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreigners applying for this visa have the intention of traveling to Congo for sightseeing, relaxation, and recreation.
  • Kenyans visiting the country may have been invited by their friends and relatives who are living in the country.
  • If you have been invited by a friend or relative in the country, a letter of invitation from your host is required. The letter should clearly state the relationship between the applicant and the host.
  • You can attend festivals and events taking place in the country that are of interest to you.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer is required. The letter should introduce the applicant, state the applicant’s job position in the country, and state the duration of the applicant’s visit.
  • Applicants should submit a copy of their Kenyan stay permit.
  • If you are under the age of 18 years and you are traveling alone or with one of your parents, a notarized consent signed by both your parents is required. Also, you are required to submit a copy of your birth certificate.
  • Proof of the incentive of returning to Kenya after the expiry of your visa should be provided.

  • Kenyans who are visiting Congo on this visa can attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits.
  • Travelers who will be attending conferences in the country should ensure they register for the conference before leaving their country. Proof of registration is required.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer confirming awareness and allowance of business leave is required. The letter should also state the activities to be carried out by the applicant and the duration of the applicant’s visit.
  • The letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Congo.
  • An official letter of invitation from the inviting company on the company’s letterhead stating the nature of the business being performed should be provided. The letter should be addressed to “The Embassy of the Republic of Congo” and must be stamped by the local Department of Immigration.

  • This visa is issued to Kenyans who are visiting Congo to take up paid employment.
  • Foreigners applying for this visa type should endure they have been offered employment by an employer in Congo before applying for this visa.
  • Applicants are required to present a letter of employment from their employer in Congo. The letter should state the position the applicant has been employed to fill in the company.
  • If you do not possess the necessary qualification for the job you have been offered by the company in Congo, you will not be issued this visa.
  • Proof from the company in Congo that there was no Congolese available to take up the job at the time you were offered this job should be provided.
  • The employment contract signed by both the employer and the employee which shows that you will not be paid below the minimum wage is required.
  • A copy of the Certificate of Business Registration and Income Tax Return should be submitted.
  • If you will be traveling with a minor, the original birth certificate bearing both names of the minor’s parents should be presented. Also, a notarized consent signed by both parents of the applicant is required.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.
  • Immunization for yellow fever is mandatory.

Congo Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners making short stops in Congo.
  • With the transit visa, foreigners can board a connecting flight from Congo to their destination country.
  • Applicants of this visa type are expected to present the visa and other entry permits of their destination country.
  • Flight ticket of the destination country is also required.
  • Traveling from Kenya to Congo and back to Kenya is not regarded as transit.
  • This visa does not allow foreigners to take up work or engage in business.
  • You are not allowed to be enrolled in one of the academic institutions in the country.
  • An extension to this visa will not be granted.
