Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Guatemala

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Guatemalan Visa.

  • Passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the intended date of exiting the country. The passport should have two blank pages.
  • Duly completed visa application form which has been appropriately signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs taken with a white background. The photograph should follow the specification of a visa application.
  • Bank statement of the previous 6 months prior to visa application. This is proof that you can cater for yourself during your time in the country.

Guatemala Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreigners applying for this visa have the intention of traveling to Guatemala for sightseeing, relaxation, and recreation.
  • Kenyans visiting the country may have been invited by their friends and relatives who are living in the country.
  • If you have been invited by a friend or relative in the country, a letter of invitation from your host is required. The letter should clearly state the relationship between the applicant and the host.
  • You can attend festivals and events taking place in the country that are of interest to you.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer is required. The letter should introduce the applicant, state the applicant’s job position in the country, and state the duration of the applicant’s visit.
  • Applicants should submit a copy of their Kenyan stay permit.
  • If you are under the age of 18 years and you are traveling alone or with one of your parents, a notarized consent signed by both your parents is required. Also, you are required to submit a copy of your birth certificate.
  • Proof of the incentive of returning to Kenya after the expiry of your visa.
  • A receipt which shows that payment has been made for visa application.
  • Foreigners are prohibited from taking up work or be paid for the services they render in the country.
  • A copy of the International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required.

  • This visa allows business travelers to go about their business activities in Guatemala without restrictions.
  • Negotiating and signing of business contracts during business meetings is part of the activities that business people can engage in while in the country.
  • Kenyans who are visiting Guatemala on this visa can attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits.
  • Travelers who will be attending conferences in the country should ensure they register for the conference before leaving their country. Proof of registration is required.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer confirming awareness and allowance of business leave is required. The letter should also state the activities to be carried out by the applicant and the duration of the applicant’s visit.
  • The letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Guatemala.
  • An official letter of invitation from the inviting company on the company’s letterhead stating the nature of the business being performed should be provided.
  • If you will be visiting more than one company, a letter of invitation from each company you will be visiting is required.
  • The Certificate of Business Registration and the Income Tax Return of the host company is required.
  • If there has been any previous dealing between you and the company in Guatemala, proof of this should be submitted.
  • A receipt indicating that payment has been made for visa application.
  • Documents which show that you have the incentive of returning to Kenya at the end of your trip.
  • Kenyans are advised to be immunized against yellow fever before traveling to Guatemala.

Guatemala Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners making short stops in Guatemala.
  • With the Transit Visa, foreigners can board a connecting flight from Congo to their destination country.
  • Applicants of this visa type are expected to present the visa and other entry permits of their destination country.
  • Flight ticket of the destination country is also required.
  • Traveling from Kenya to Guatemala and back to Kenya is not regarded as transit.
  • This visa does not allow foreigners to take up work or engage in business.
  • You are not allowed to be enrolled in one of the academic institutions in the country.
  • An extension to this visa will not be granted.
  • If you are under the age of 18 years, the original of your birth certificate is required.
