Cote d’Ivoire is well known for its three UNESCO World Heritage Sites which are the Tai National Park, Comoe National Park and Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve. The Tai National Park is a hidden habitat for chimps, the park also offers tourists hiking opportunities through tropical forests. The country also has beach resorts where tourists can take in the lagoon winds.
 
Tourism in Ivory Coast has been steadily increasing since the early 1970s. In 1998, the country recorded 301,039 tourists but the number of tourists in the country is presently at about 1.6 million. It is projected that even more tourists will visit the country in years to come.
 
Tourists will not be allowed to export any high value piece of art from Ivory Coast without getting an exit permit from the National Museum. You are prohibited from entering the country with more than $1,000 or its equivalent.
