Oman Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa allows foreigners to visit Oman for tourism and leisure.
  • The Oman tourist visa is valid for thirty days and can be extended.
  • The two passport-sized photographs used in the visa application should be 4 x 6 cm in size and taken against a white background.
  • An original passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of visa expiration is required.
  • Kenyans who intend to just visit friends and relatives in Oman will also need a tourist visa.
  • The host in Oman is required to send a formal invitation to the traveler, confirming they want them around. The letter should contain the home address and telephone number of the host.
  • The Oman tourist visa is not issued to foreigners who have an Israeli stamp on their passports.
  • Foreigners on a tourist visa are not allowed to receive payment for any service they render in the country.
  • A document that proves you have the incentive of returning to your country is required. This could be any of the following:
    • An employer’s declaration
    • A rental agreement
    • Records of your children's school attendance
    • A proof of ownership of your house, etc.
  • If you are employed, you are required to present a letter from your employer confirming awareness and allowance of your leave.
  • The application fee for the Oman tourist visa is 20 Omani Riyals. 
  • Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever before traveling to Oman.
  • Oman does not recognize dual citizenship, however, Omani law does not specifically forbid the acquiring of a second citizenship.
  • It is crucial that applicants test for HIV/AIDS before setting out to Oman.
  • Traveling with medication is allowed, provided that you show a copy of the prescription.

  • The Oman business visa is for businessmen and women coming into the country specifically for business.
  • As a business visa holder, you can negotiate and sign business contracts with your business partners in Oman.
  • Business travelers can also attend trade fairs, conferences and summits while they are in Oman.
  • For those planning to attend a conference, prior registration for the exact event is necessary.
  • A letter of invitation from the company you are visiting in Oman should be provided. The letter should be written on the company’s letterhead and should state the duration and purpose of your visit.
  • The letter of invitation should also introduce the applicant and fully explain the nature of the business to be conducted.
  • Your business partner in Oman is required to provide a certificate of business registration and a copy of membership card of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • Copy of the signature specimen of the authorized signatories issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry must be provided.
  • If you have previously been in business with the company you are meeting in Oman, proof of this is required.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
  • Passport must not contain any evidence of prior or intended travel to Israel.
