How to get a Romania visa from Kenya

• The tourist visa is issued to Kenyans who are visiting Romania for tourism purposes.
• Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your visit it must not expire sooner than your intended date of departure.
• Two identical 30 mm x 40 mm passport-sized photographs with white background is required.
• Travelers should provide evidence of booking with tour company or tour organizer.
• No immunizations or unusual health precautions are necessary or required, but during the summer months mosquitoes are present in the Danube Delta and some low-lying regions. For your comfort take some mosquito repellent with you, if visiting Romania during the warm season.
• The currency used in Romania is Romanian Lei. Though most of the prices of goods in Romania are displayed in Euros.
• Travelers can only enter Romania with just 10,000 euros in cash. Any amount higher would have to be declared before entry.
• Proof that the applicant is capable of financial support must be provided, The applicant is required to have at least EUR 30/day for the entire period of their stay on the territory of Romania.

• A letter from your employer confirming your business leave is required. The letter should be written with the company’s letterhead and should have information which includes your position in the company and the duration of your business leave.
• An invitation from the host company for participation in meetings, conferences, fairs, or congresses related to trade or industry stating that the company will cover the expenses must be provided. This letter must also receive the approval from the General Inspectorate for Immigration-Ministry of Internal Affairs (IGI-MAI), without this it is impossible for the applicant to do business with the host company.
• The letter should also have the company’s address and state the duration, as well as the purpose of your visit.
• You are required to possess a copy of the certificate of business registration and the bylaws of your partner company.
• Proof that you made payment for the visa application is required.
• Proof of previous business dealings between you and the company should be provided, if any.

• This visa can be issued to Kenyans who are administrators of a trading company.
• Applicants of this visa must prove that they are not associates or shareholders of the trading company or of another Romanian legal entity. They should also not have exercised this function for the last 2 years.
• Before this visa will be issued to applicant’s there must not be another foreigner in the trading company in Romania who holds this visa.
• Foreigners who request this visa also do so for the purpose of undergoing unpaid professional training in an accredited professional training provider in an authorized public or private company.
• Kenyans who apply for this visa may also register for volunteer programmes.
• For this visa to be issued to volunteers, the volunteer must not be less than 13 years of age.
• Foreigners who seek long-term medical attention in Romania are also eligible for this visa.
• A letter of acceptance from the medical institution specifying the diagnosis and duration of the treatment should be presented.

• Underage children are required to have a letter of consent signed by both parents of the minor. The original copy of the minors’ birth certificate should be provided.

• Kenyans traveling to Romania may seek employment as seasonal workers.
• Skilled Kenyans employed by legal persons with registered office in Kenya may work in Romania in compliance with the Romanian laws.

• The student visa is for foreigners who intend to travel to Romania either for pre-graduate, graduate, or postgraduate studies or in view of obtaining academic degrees within the state or accredited private institutions.
• Foreigners who are trainees or who want to partake in the pupil exchange scheme or in an individual project may also apply for this visa.
• Kenyans who want to carry out activities of scientific research on the grounds of the endorsement of the Ministry of Research and Innovation and the General Inspectorate for Immigration.
• The visa allows Kenyans to enter the territory of Romania to apply at the Ministry of Internal Affairs – General Inspectorate for Immigration, for the extension of the right of temporary stay and for a residence permit.
• Proof of acceptance for studies from the Romanian Ministry of Education, attesting that the visa applicant will attend a full-time course of study at a state or private higher education institution.
• Applicant should present proof of tuition fee for at least one academic year.
• Students should have at least €500 per month
• Students who have been previously convicted will not be issued this visa.
• Proof of knowledge of the language of the study programme to be followed, with the exception of the preparatory year of Romanian language for foreign citizens.
• If you are under the age of 18, a notarized letter of consent signed by both parents should be provided.

• This visa is for diplomats visiting the country for official purposes.
• Diplomats visiting the country aim to improve the relationship between the government of Kenya and Romania.
• A diplomatic note from the Kenyan government is required. The note should contain your position in government, duration, and purpose of your visit to the country.
• An original invitation letter from the government in Romania is required.
• Applicants of this visa are Heads of State, Consular officers, ministers, and African Union representatives.
• Asides Head of States, if your purpose of visiting the country is non-official, this visa will not be issued to you.
• If you are traveling with a minor, the original copy of the minor’s birth certificate should be presented during the visa application process.
• Diplomats can attend conferences and meetings while you are in the country.
• You are not allowed to study with this visa.
• Holders of this visa cannot be paid for the services they render in the country.
• Applicants should ensure they have a valid means of identification.
