Slovenia Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Slovakia is part of the Schengen agreement, so a Schengen visa is needed to travel to the country.
- Researchers travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research are also eligible to the Slovenian tourist visa.
- It is required for applicants to submit their original passport, which is valid for a minimum of 3 months after your return from the trip.
- Two recent 35 mm x 45 mm passport-sized photographs are required, they must be taken in a gray background.
- You need to submit a Travel medical insurance with at least 30,000EUR coverage. This is one of the important Slovenia visa requirements and an assurance to the embassy that you have enough coverage to afford any medical emergencies that may arise during your stay in Slovenia.
- A personal cover letter is required, in the letter you must state the following:
- Dates of the journey.
- Places you intend to visit.
- Arrangements made for the accommodation and transportation.
- The following documents are also required:
- A no objection letter from your employer
- If you can’t get an NOC, a leave approval from your office for the duration of your visit can be submitted.
- Proof of civil status showing whether you’re married or not. Some of the documents you can provide are; your marriage certificate, ration card, your birth certificate, spouse’s death certificate, or your child’s birth certificate.
- Flight itinerary is required.
- The proof of your permanent address, such as your land deed, property lease agreement, electricity bill or water bill.
- Credit cards are generally accepted in Slovenia.
- Visa fee is free for children from age 0 to age 12.
- Vaccination for tick-borne encephalitis is required.
- Retired persons should possess a pension statement or documents showing other financial support from the last 6 months.

- To stay longer than 90 days within a 180-day period, you must apply for a temporary residency prior to entering Slovenia.
- Applicants must register with the police within three days of arrival. Failure to do so will result into a fine.

Slovenia Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Slovenia student visa is also known as the type D visa.
- The student visa is for Kenyans looking to study in Slovenia.
- There are two types of Slovenia student visa:
- Short-stay visa- this visa lasts for just 90 days.
- Long-stay visa- this visa lasts for 12 months, and it is also extendable.
- If you are studying in Slovenia for more than three months, you are required to purchase a residence permit.
- If you have a valid residence permit issued by another state that is party to the Schengen Agreement, you may enter the Republic of Slovenia on the basis of this permit
- Proof of medical insurance which covers the entire duration of your stay with a minimum of 30,000 EUR coverage. But, you should first confirm that your school does not have arrangement for your insurance.
- If your institution does not have any arrangement for your accommodation, you should reserve a hotel accommodation.
- Students should have at least €300 monthly in order to maintain financial sustenance.
- You might be able to work with the Slovenia student visa but you should verify from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- The following documents are also required:
- Two 35 mm x 45 mm passport
size photos.
- You will be asked to leave
your fingerprints.
- A valid passport and a copy
of the first page. The passport must be valid for 3 additional months
after the intended stay in Slovenia
- A copy of the page in the
passport where you have the stamp of entering in Slovenia.
- Certificate of enrollment at
the University. For example, acceptance letter.
- Criminal record from your
home country that confirms that you haven’t been convicted of a felony,
translated into Slovene and certified.
